Pyrotex Posted April 21, 2006 Report Posted April 21, 2006 My wife and I have three cats: Harley is 2 years old, 13 pounds, male (fixed) and an orange/white tabby. Meowski is 5 years old, 10 pounds, female (fixed) and a black/white tuxedo. Bandit is 3 years old, 7 pounds, female (fixed) and a black/orange/white patchwork calico. Though the smalles, Bandit is the most aggressive of the cats, and will steal food off your plate if you blink your eyes too often. :hihi: Quote

After chemo and 8 months later, he is still cancer free, albeit, the weight problem came on after he was put on the standard treatment for mast cell cancer that involves heavy steriod therapy. He went from 124 lbs. to 149.6 lbs in just 3 months... Because he has severe arthritis, exercise has been really hard on him. :naughty: Hopefully with the weather getting nice, he'll be able to walk better and I can get the weight off him. It's really hard to watch him struggle somedays with the weight and arthritis... Otto is gorgeous! What a cutie! :hihi: Thanks for the congrats. She's a real bundle of happiness! Quote
Loricybin Posted April 22, 2006 Report Posted April 22, 2006 I've always been fascinated by axolotls! Do they make good pets?sorry, i began to respond to this once, and my computer froze, never got back around to it 'till now. . . they make great pets if you like aquarium animalsi personally prefer more interaction, but they are very funny animals. . . hand feeding them is a unique experience.their method of hunting is hilarious, and often startling. they have tiny little nubby teeth that do absolutely zero damage.the way they grab their food is by swimming up right in front of it, pausing for a few moments, then opening their mouths really wide, for just a split second, creating strong momentary suction. it used to make me jump every single time. also, they like to swim up to the waterline, and then spread their legs and toes out real wide and just float to the bottom.and when they get startled, they dart around the tank in a very strangely chaotic way. go axolotls. Tarantism Posted April 22, 2006 Report Posted April 22, 2006 no pets to speak of. i miss my cats. Quote
Panjandrum Posted April 24, 2006 Report Posted April 24, 2006 I have a dog. I appreciate its simple loyalty and mindless obeidience. You always know where you are with a dog, theyre predictable. Quote
Turtle Posted April 24, 2006 Report Posted April 24, 2006 You always know where you are with a dog, theyre predictable. Poppycock! Completely ignores the 'great family' dog which unexpectedly mauls someone to death, usually a child. Such cases abound.:phones: Quote
Panjandrum Posted April 24, 2006 Report Posted April 24, 2006  Good point. I shall rephrase. You always think you know where you are with a dog, and youre usually correct. Quote

IMAMONKEY! Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 My family has had a lot of cats... Most either died of lukemia or got hit by a car. We just have bad luck with cats... Dogs bode well with my family although my (and i say my because I loved her to death. Literally) dog Sandy developed a problem with her theiroid gland (did i spell that right?). She gained a lot of weight fast and there was not much we could do. Surgery cost too much and my dad lost his job so that wasnt an option. She developed really bad arthritis. I'll never forget the day before she died my dad carried her upstairs and let her sleep with me in my bed. God I loved her. Great dog. Quote
Pyrotex Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 My wife, Gwendolyn, and I have two "cat-children": Meowski is a female, with a classic black with white socks "tuxedo" markings. She has the most enormous whiskers you have ever seen, and long, silky soft fur. Harley is a male with two-toned orange tabby markings. He curls up in the bathroom sink each morning, waiting for me to get out of bed and turn the tap on so he can drink water straight from the faucet. Quote
Back2Reality Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 I have goldfish. Did you know that there are more dogs in the US, and Britain (and probably other places) than there are children? They still add to the overpopulation though dont they?! Quote
