oldpaddoboy
The year was 1968. 2001: A Space Odyssey was released in Cinerama. In going through the greatest sci/fi movies, this one, imo anyway, stands head and shoulders above anything before or since. So ignoring that fact, my favourite other sci/fi movies are The Day the Earth Stood Still, (1953 version, War of the worlds, 1953 version, Forbidden Planet, the Star Trek series of movies, all of them particularly V'ger Wrath of Kahn, and the Search for Spock. Others, are Contact, Close Encounters, Mission to Mars and Gravity.
