I like this one:

read - I read a book

red - My shirt is red.

read - I like to read.

reed - My saxophone needs a new reed

reed - I was in the wetlands, peering through the reeds.

 

I hate this one:

your - Your grammar is poor.

you're - You're a succubus.

 

hmmmm...let's see

tire - A car has tires.

tire - I tire of your argument.

tier - I've moved up to a new tier in society.

tier - I am an expert tier of ropes.

 

tear - I miss her which makes me shed tears.

tear - I will tear this note and throw it away.
