might be Homonyms in the USA ?:thumbs_do

 

G'donya mate! All good points as they hinge on (mis)pronunciation; moreover, the reason I substituted 'heirs' for 'errors' in the title. ;)

Actually a minute of time just meant a small part of an hour, second means a second (=further) division of the same hour.

 

There are also the minutes of a meeting, meaning a short report. In practice they are rarely short or small.

 

Fair enough.
