What is difference bet honeypot and honeynet

Recommended Posts

Well, I don't speak spanish, but I know the difference between the two...

A honeypot is a system that is used for the express purpose of allowing people to break into it, so that the system owner may observe the attacker's activity.

A honeynet is a network (simulated or real) of honeypots.

Check out the Honeynet Project for more information - http://www.honeynet.org

Have you learned how to use Google yet? Check out what happens when you type honeypot and click search. I do think you should try to master some more stuff after Google though before you try to understand honeypots.

Sorry, right-o. Back on track.

"Say, Jed?"

"Hmm?"

"You see them damn bears last night?"

"Nahh."

"They got into the honey pots again."

"Bastards. If I see one more damn bea--"

"Calm dow, calm down. It's okay Jed, I got 'im. Damn bear didn't move an inch as I walked up to it with the twelve gauge."

"Nice..."

"Weird thing was, right before I sent it to kingdom come, I could'a sworn it screamed "Nooooooo!" in this nagging, whiney (Whinney ) voice."

"Humph."

"Damndest thing I ever heard..."
