C1ay
Hello all, Can any one tell me what is the difference between Software Registers and Hardware Registers? DarshanWelcome to Hypography. I'm not sure what context your question refers to but I assume you mean processor registers. All processors have a certain number of hardwired registers built in which are hardware registers. Some architectures like RISC also use virtual registers which I think you are referring to as software registers. Here's a white paper on the Itanium register stack that may help. darshanvora
I had this white paper with me, but it's not too useful for me, if you can give me more details on the same question. The registers which i am talking of is independent of the processor architecture.
