  1. I think you need to remember that, if not for the gentlemen that you are choosing to disparage, THIS forum would not exist at all. Keep that in mind when you are going on about people being unscientific. While I may not agree with every thought or idea that is presented here, I have never ceased to appreciate the fact that there is a place for so many different thoughts and ideas. If you are not finding the audience that you seek in this thread, do as Tormod suggests and head for the Theology forum.
  2. Pyro and Jay-qu... I gave BigDog some rep since you couldn't. I know mine doesn't count as much as yours does, but I can give it to him 10 times in a row if I want, and not have to spread any around. :hyper: Also, BigDog... you speak as if that is far off into the future. Have you NO IDEA what it's like to be me?? I mean, all of those things you mentioned... yeah, they happen to me, Tormod, C1ay, Gahd, sanctus, and pgrmdave at least 20 or 30 times a day. I'm sure Buffy and Infy get it too. Don't YOU tell your wee ones that you got rep from Buffy, or a PM from Gahd? And if you don't - WHY NOT
  3. I was actually there, many years ago, when the 'longest mural in the state' was unvelied in the little gift shop at the top of the mountain. I will remember that day forever, for three simple reasons, all having to do with my senses... I had no idea at that time that a place could still have snow on the ground in June (I was very young, and had spent most of my life up to that point in either Vegas, Riverside CA, or Panama Canal). I had never tasted deep fried mushrooms before. Wonderful things, those. I never had the pleasure of feeling champagne bubbles on my tongue before that day. Than
  4. I just got off the phone with my mother in law, and she's pushing for a visit this August. Maybe we can get together then. How far off the turnpike are you? I was also hoping that maybe we could get together with Infy and niviene as well. That would be pretty cool, if all of us could meet up for dinner or something. We'll have to figure out a central meeting point for the three of you, not too far from the turnpike, and see if we can do this. Also, besides my Vegas trip in April, and Ohio in late August, I'm taking nemo to Ireland in early August. We're trying to meet at least one other H
  5. Chicken!!! Seriously, I see your point. However, I often talk to the oldest one (almost 14 now) about things that I've done in the past. I think this is really awesome. It serves a few different purposes... I get some time alone with her. She gets to learn about me as a person, instead of just as a mom. I get to come clean about things I did before I had kids. She gets to ask all sorts of questions (which is REALLY cool to me) so I can figure out where she is on a lot of things by the questions she asks. I vowed long ago that I wouldn't lie to my kids, and this has been a hard one to keep so
  6. Is this in New Mexico? I've been to the Sandia mountains there. Really beautiful place. Welcome to the forums!
  7. Last May, I met Tormod and Yvonne for the first time. They came over to the States, and spent a few days in Virginia. We first met them at the Fredericksburg Battlefield, took them to lunch at Olive Garden, then went shopping and finished off the day at a pub. I was introduced to a wonderful white beer, from somewhere near their neck of the woods. It was a wonderful time!! My kids STILL talk about them on a regular basis. I met C1ay last June. We were on our way to a week long Pensacola vacation, and stopped off in Atlanta to see a Braves game. We met C1ay and his wife at an awesome Cajun re
  8. I just use the livers in mine, not the gizzards. You'll have to tell me how you liked it. It really is one of our favorite dishes, but we don't eat it too often. Also, did any of you check out the "Cooking for Engineers" site in the link? That place just kills me. It is exactly where I would send nemo if he wanted to know how to cook something. Looking at this particular recipe, it made me chuckle to see that they had put all of the ingredients on the cutting board, clockwise, in the order that they should be added to the pan. And I just LOVED that chart at the bottom, with all of the lines
  9. Nemo just tuned me in to this. It has to be the funniest thing I've seen in a while. http://www.slashdot.org I'm not sure how long it will be like this, as they changed the site just for April Fool's Day. If you check it after that, and it's back to normal, you missed it. Right now, it's just so pink and pretty!!:Tupac: Taken from slashdot.org ...as an explanation...
  10. Yahoo as a search engine? Nah, I'm a google-bot. But I'm on Yahoo for their groups all the time. I like the Freecycle and a writers group where I spend gads of time.
  11. I think it's an interesting idea that deserves it's very own thread.:)
  12. Noticed. Thought I was seeing things. Went into the ACP to be sure. Didn't make the list though.
  13. Tough one! Everything is so pristine after a snow. I so love to snuggle up in front of a blaze with a good book and an *Irish* coffee, so winter is really nice. (Just don't expect me to go out in that stuff, ok?) Flowers bloom, trees turn green, birds sing... ahhh, I love the spring! Colors blazing everywhere, golds and oranges, reds and browns, leaves falling to the ground, the smell of pumpkin pie in the air... Fall rocks! Did you guess that I chose SUMMER? When all is said and done, nothing beats the beach! Warm salty breeze blowing in off the ocean, waves lapping at your feet, sand b
  14. Uh, yeah, been there, done that, have the scars. Crazy childhood left me emotionally empty. I tried to kill myself a few times. Honestly, I really didn't want to die. I just wanted to NOT FEEL PAIN anymore. In my mind, the easiest way to not feel it was to end my life. Death was not the goal, getting rid of the pain was. I tried sliting my wrists, and taking pills a few times. I still have scars on my wrists, and still have an aversion to OTC pain relievers to this day. They just make me gag, and that was quite a few years ago. How to treat her... Well, like many have said, I think being the
  15. I just realized that I might have totally dated myself, as this was closer to 20 years ago than it was to 10. YIKES!! feeling older by the second, Irish
