We are still alive...... to an extent I guess lol. I think Mikhail was looking to start digiaxon v. 2. Harris and I are still chugging along at Nerve. Nice to see you again though ;)

@Gamer2442 On what basis have you said this information? Skype has been used to send viruses and malware before. Your actions and words do not match your claims, and I would like to warn members of this forum to not give out your skype address, as it can expose you to malware.

Hello! We are having our first meeting in a few days, and I would like to extend an invitation to the members of this forum to join in the conversation! You do not have to join nerve to contribute, although that would be nice ;) Please send me a private message to join in; we hope to have more than 20 people there.

I kinda get what you are getting at.... but... it seems scientifically incorrect.... @auranightheart is correct in saying that an advanced version will probably have methods for calibrating itself, (which i personally believe may be something along the lines of the kinect calibration- do certain movements so the machine gets the feel of it) How would calibration figure out what age certain people are? I don't think any calibration process will involve looking at how advanced the development of the brain is (which is finicky anyways). I personally believe that VR can be used for other things than gaming: such as entertainment and learning. (Virtual reality is already being used to train some surgeons). So the question should not be 'how to manage it', but 'how to integrate it into our future lives'.

I think its a common misconception that a human brain works in 'waves'. This notion is utterly false: instead waves are just a visual tool produced by EEG to show the activation of neurons. It is true that every person's brain is different; however, just not in t he way you describe it.

To quote 'world war z', "if there are 10 people in the room, and 9 people agree, it is the job of the 10th person to disagree, no matter how far-fetched or crazy it may seem". Posting information that may shape and increase our knowledge is not something to shy away from. I would actually be interested in what you have to say. This forum needs a section for Augmented Reality as well anyways IMO. I sense that you would like an environment closer to Augmented Reality, which is in a way, more achievable than virtual reality at this moment. As Not brad said: I cannot agree less.

That is incorrect. Sensory neurons are present throughout the body, in the form of mechanoreceptors, photo-electric cells and auditory neurons, to name a few. The Spinal cord is really only what connects these to the central nervous system. I do not see why there is a need for a 'very strong firewall', or where did you get the concept of 'micro wave particles'. Do not use SAO as a scientific resource, as in the end, it is a work of fiction. Again, neurons are present throughout the body. The nerves within the spinal cord are really only transport mechanisms. A spinal cord injury is caused by trauma/ damage to the neurons and the spinal cord structure. It is true that it is dangerous to tamper with it, although i dont believe any reasonable person would play around with their brain either. Could you clarify what a 'harmless neuro laser' is? Perhaps you are talking about photostimulation, which is still in its infancy. ???????? A computer made brain is only a model. It does not predict what would happen if you apply electricity to it. Which in any case should not be done in a non-clinical environment. Also, the 'nerve gear' has not even been developed yet. ......... I have to raise my eyebrows at that. Japan is not three centuries ahead in technology. It may be a leader in technological development, but it is by no means 300 years advanced. Again, please do not refer to SAO as your guide to discussing such VR-BCI technology, as it is in the end, a work of fiction.
