  1. Don't forget the Bilderbergers.
  2. It's quite possible that the standard practice at these get-togethers is to take care of your own business and then go home, which is what I think happened in Prague. Sure would be great if everyone would just accept the IAU's decision and move on. :)
  3. Cedar's right.. traps are the way to go. My neighbor had a pretty bad hornet problem and that's how he got rid of them. No matter if you use storebought traps or make your own, here's his recipe for the bait. Put some small cubes of raw red meat in the trap (fish works good, too), and then add some cubes of canned fruit with juice. Then add a little bit of water so it doesn't dry up, and swirl it all around. Put it about 6 feet from the Hummingbird feeder and in a few days the smell will start to draw the pests away from the feeder and into the trap. Make sure not to handle the trap unless it's dark and they've already flown back to the hive/nest.
  4. A guy is driving around and sees a sign in front of a house: "Talking Dog For Sale", so he rings the bell and the owner tells him the dog is in the backyard. The guy goes into the backyard and sees a Labrador Retriever sitting there. "You talk?" he asks. "Yep," the Lab replies. "So, what´s your story?" The Lab looks up and says, "Well, I discovered that I could talk when I was pretty young, and I wanted to help the government; so I told the CIA about my gift, and in no time at all they had me jetting from country to country, sitting in rooms with spies and world leaders, because no one figured a dog would be eavesdropping. I was one of their most valuable spies for eight years running. But the jetting around really tired me out, and I knew I wasn´t getting any younger so I wanted to settle down. I signed up for a job at the airport to do some undercover security work, mostly wandering near suspicious characters and listening in. I uncovered some incredible dealings and was awarded a batch of medals. I got married, had a mess of puppies, and now I´m just retired." The guy is amazed. He goes back in and asks the owner what he wants for the dog. "Ten bucks." The guy says "This dog is amazing. Why on earth are you selling him so cheaply?" "Because he´s a liar. He didn´t do any of that stuff."
  5. Immortal? No thanks, I've seen 'Highlander'. :cup: I picked zero.. whatever will be, will be, I guess. :)
  6. When the IAU convenes in Prague next month for their 26th assembly, one of the items on the agenda is to define the word 'planet'. It'll be interesting to see whether Pluto makes the cut or not. (Sorry, forgot the link and tried adding it through an edit, but the system thought I was a spammer so I've added some spaces which will have to be removed when the URL is pasted into an address bar. I hope this is ok to do.) http: // www .bnsc .gov .uk /content .aspx? nid=6113
  7. Nothing special here, just guitar and lead vocal.
  8. Looks like it worked, thanks much! Btw, how does one go about using a personal image for an avatar? I found the page with all the stock images but couldn't locate an option to load my own.
  9. Ok, I just sent it to you, Clay. Thanks for helping me out on this.
  10. Ok thanks, but there must be something blocking it because I just checked my email at 2330Z and it's not there... is there a problem because it's Hotmail? Some sites don't accept it. I'd already tried re-registering using my private email address but your system recognized the fact that I'd registered from this computer already and it wouldn't let me. Could you change my email address in the system to my private email and send me the activation codes there? I can PM it to you. Thanks again!
  11. Ok, I'm new to the site and registered about a week ago but have yet to receive the email. I requested another one (maybe two) but still nothing. So I clicked on the link in a grey box at the top of every page and tried contacting someone in charge (twice now, I think), but still nothing. Here's what the text in the grey box says: "Your account has not been confirmed and is not yet active! To become a registered user on this forum (required for posting or accessing special features) you will need to verify your email address by clicking a special link sent to you in our original welcome email. If you have lost this email, or it never arrived, please go here to request another activation email be sent to you. If you suspect your email address is set wrong, go here and fill the form out so an administrator can fix your account. Also please be sure to disable any spam filters you may have for our website, so that this and all future messages can reach you." In looking through the messages on the site I found the name of the administrator and sent him a private message tonight. There was something on his profile indicating a vacation.. do I have to wait till the end of July to get the registration email? It's a bit frustrating.. if I hadn't stumbled on this section I'd probably have kept shotgunning messages all over the place. Can someone figure out what's wrong? Thanks! - figment
