god gave us free will. he wouldnt want wars, either, but we did what we did, same with all else.

and yet more questions: what if lunar soil cant be burrowed through? that it would collapse behind the burrowing machine? and if we reach the core of the moon, will it be the same as on earth? could we use the heat for energy, if the crust is easier to break through? and, if we couldnt, where would we get electricity? gas would be hard to ship, and is there oil on the moon? could we eventually make the moon just as habitable as earth, minus pollution? and also, even if we get these problems solved, would it even be that great?:thumbs_do the moon is only the size of africa and australia combined(38 million km2) and by the time we even get to the moon, it will be immeadiatly overcrowded by people, because of the immense number of people by then.

OK, another question. if genetic engineering is not playing god, as many people say, is making a WHOLE NEW SPECIES not playing god? is making a new species just a major form of playing god?

and also it would cost more to burrow more soil, so underground colonies would have minimal open space. talk about claustaphobia!

I can answer forgetfulness. When we forget things, our brain cells don't die. The things that do deteriorate are the links to the brain cells. Have you ever been asked a question, in a group, and you figure an answer, but another member of the group answers first, then after he finishes, you attempt to answer, but you can’t remember:( ? This is because when you come up with an answer, and you are just about to answer, the answer goes to your verbal center of your brain. You are forced to listen to the other guy. But since you didn’t say something when you were about to, you forgot.

Gravity pulled everything in the huge black hole of what would become the big bang. but what did it pull together? was there a big bang before the most recent big bang? will our universe be pulled together and "bang" again?

past the speed of light cannot be reached. light itself can only go its speed because of the law that the faster you go, the slower time goes. if you go the speed of light, time stops, and so you go the speed of light. i think the speed of light is acually infinity if you are the thing going the speed of light, but to the observer, or even precise instruments, you are going slower. the only time this has probobly been reached is during the big bang, when the whole universe blew apart.

humans most definatly have instincts. this is backed up by adreniline rushes. you cannot control these rushes, so they are instincts. it is instinctive to have a rush of adreniline in life threatining/surprising situations. i think that adreniline is just granting your brain full use of all muscles and thinking. if we always had full use of muscles/thinking, we would were ourselves out fast.

underground colonies would be the best strategy, i think. in any case, we would have to manufacure a fake atmosphere. a huge dome would have to be constructed. it would probly be cheaper to burrow down, and create an atmosphere were the soil would naturally keep the air belowground. and how to get food? if you just shipped it it would cost about 60 million dollars per trip!:eek_big: if we had farms, we might be able to genetically modify the food to make it accept the nutrients in the moonsoil. but the soil might not be able to provide the proper nutrients. could genetic engineering be advanced enough by the time we colonize the moon to make a whole knew moon species, with a totally knew look, taste, and cell makup? and what about animals?

i say new space station, along with new type of space shuttle. current shuttles are becoming unsafe, mainly because of age. the F-14 tomcats are being retired, why not the shuttle along with it?

if we could totally program a new synthetic cell, not even using any base DNA, we could "program" a cell to multiply in a certain way and respond to certain stymulus. this way we could have organisms that would work as nanotech but they would multiply. if they multiplied asexually, than you would get exact copies of the original cell/nanotech. they could be programmed much the same way as an unmanned vehicle. it would be instinctive for it to do certain jobs, such as cleaning the toilet or keeping input/output contacts clean.
