There's human nature both good and bad and every variation in between.

Don't you know that 'pagan' in Latin just mean a rural/country person? The cities create the religions as a means of population control.

I think you ducked the question. :)

Yep words change their meaning. I have been a pagan for most of my life, ie lived in the sticks.

Religious people dont normally seem to realize the purpose of religion in controlling society around them, you must be a moderate ?.

Problems occur when different religions ie Moslem and Christian groups living next to each other dont talk to each other. Or start with the bullshit hatred generated by the respective religions. A problem I find is when fanatics try to preach their beliefs in societies where, other equally nonsense beliefs exists. Christianity and Islam are clashing at the moment as they would both like to extend their influence.

Religious fanatics are a massive problem in the world, like a hand reaching out from the past holding society back.

I wonder if there is a level of obsessive compulsive disorder required to be a fanatic? Is the level of OCD increasing in the world?

I don't know what you are talking about?

Our parliament just welcomed the president of the largest Muslim nation on this planet to speak in recognition of 70 years of national friendship.

People often misunderstand the 'rule of the mean', which doesn't mean to be cruel and mean, but instead urges people not to go to extremes.

One of my best mates tells me that you cannot have ANZAC day without the Turki's and we usually have a barby when he's in the country.

I suppose you really have to recognize the things people have in common instead of the obvious differences to progress past your own basic prejudices.

Edit A bit of history on the Anzacs and Turks memorials https://www.awm.gov....ns/dawn/turkish I am pretty sure you werent around in 1915.

Turkish cuisine is way better than Australian kangaroo or crocodile. I didnt find a restaurant in new zealand where I could eat a Kiwi bird. Supose I could have cooked a fresh road killed kiwi.

I'm pretty sure I wasn't around in 1915 either and I never said I was. Our ANZAC day, a national public holiday, is on the 25th April each year and when my good Turkish mate is here we have a barbie. He has served in the Turkish military though.

I don't know about Kangaroo, Crocodile or Kiwi bird but Lamb is bloody nice marinated on a skewer and or cooked on a hot plate.

You shouldn't project your misconceptions onto me. Reading what people actually write would help.

I believe the solution to this is to bomb Muslims, here in America we have gotten pretty good at bombing Muslims. The next time there is a pilgrimage to Mecca we should just bomb all the Muslims there.

If you bomb Muslims in America, its going to be messy, and you will likely get a few none Muslims.

Visiting Mecca is something all Muslims should do once in their life time. Bombing it would certainly make it a once in a life time experience for those at Mecca. It would probably result in reciprocal actions. Such as bombing the Vatican during religious celebrations, obviously there would be less casualities, because the Vatican is insignificant compared to Mecca.

Just how does bombing Muslims address the OP. Why does Christianity have two bibles? Perhaps you would like to do away with all religion in the world and get rid of the bible as well, which perhaps isnt a bad thing in a modern world.

Even better we should ban all religion and make the punishment for believing terrorism faiths death. The belief in God has caused billions of deaths it is time we strike back. No more freedom of religion, all religious practices punishable by death!

China only allows state sanctioned religions, and controls who the leaders of those religions are. https://en.wikipedia...ligion_in_China

Americas first Amendment places into law freedom of all religious wackos. https://en.wikipedia...e_United_States

Religious people use deliberate misinformation preventing gullible weak people making informed decisions, yes it should be illegal. Problem is it appears that politicians support these ****wits and they make the laws. They might introduce a law to enforce their religion, as in some of the Islamic countries. Malaysia is an islamic state, where to have a business you must by law have a moslem partner.

Religious diversity in the Roman empire was likely one of the causes of its fall, perhaps America has not learned from history.

I tend to agree with some of your points above, in a less extreme way. Maybe making it illegal to talk about religion to children, before they have enough knowledge to recognize bullshit when they see it.

Religion has historically been shown to be a bad thing :) The Christian Islamic religious crusaders try to expand their influence globally. to make everyone as ignorant as they  are.

I have a remote memory, cant place where I read it, but it is something along the lines that the Hindus traveled out of india and are linked to Judism/old testament, and maybe to Egypt. Your link would seem to confirm the Old testament link.

There are the Cochin Jews in India https://www.ncbi.nlm...les/PMC5020127/ who claim to have been there since before Solomon era :) but perhaps are more recent. Perhaps the flood story was introduced by them. Also I understand the Talmud has had many rewrites, so cant be regarded as a accurate account of anything, happening in Palestine. Hinduism started probably around 2300BC when it was first documented, the stories incorporated in it likely existed before hand.

That would make a lot of sense. That is also knew to me I have never heard of the Cochin Jews. Either that or they brought the stories with them and the Hebrew priests got a hold of them. Hard to say but I think you are on to something. Yes it would be interesting if they ever found one of the very first Talmuds and how much it would differ. Although I think if they did find one that old they would put it away under lock and key. For sure I think a lot of the stories started off as oral tradition.

Thanks for the link! Very interesting.

Also Christians are taught that Pagans are evil and are Godless. Most Christians don't even realize most of the things they celebrate such as Christmas, Easter were originally Pagan. I get really agitated when the Christians complain they are taking Christ out of Christmas. Well guess what he didn't belong there in the first place. And it is actually the Sun which was originally celebrated because it was making it's way back and the days get longer and it will soon start to get warm. And I guess I shouldn't even get started on the Christmas tree and decorating it. :smilingsun: The ignorance of religions people is just ridiculous.

Well if your being realistic look at how many Iraqis and Afghanis have been killed during the occupation of the US. Last time I checked I think it was in the millions. So the ones that control the US military kind of took your idea.
