Rebiu
Scull and Bones V Opus Dei Who has more power? Who has more money? Who has greater loyalty? Is this comparison valid?
Freddy
Scull and Bones V Opus Dei Who has more power? Who has more money? Who has greater loyalty? Is this comparison valid? Are not these two groups secret societies? The former consists of Yale University students and alumni while the latter is a Catholic group. What are the goals of each group? Turtle
Scull and Bones V Opus Dei Who has more power? Who has more money? Who has greater loyalty? Is this comparison valid?I don't have much on Opus Dei, but according to Alexandra Robbins the Skull & Bones is losing its power and member loyalty. She was on the radio last night talking about her new book The Overachievers, but answered some questions on Skull & Bones in regard to her previous book Secrets of the Tomb. Apparently the older members have stopped helping the younger members ever since they started admitting women; not because women are now members, but because of how the younger members voted them in.Here is Alexandra's web page: http://www.alexandrarobbins.com/:)

Boerseun
Opus Dei turned out to be a hoax, much to Dan Brown's chagrin...
cwes99_03
Opus Dei is a real group, and is largely secretive in its membership and in some cases practices. I don't know what Dan Brown wrote, but it would not surprise me that it was fictionalized for dramatic purposes.
rockytriton
Opus Dei wasn't the hoax, it was the Priory of Sion or however you spell that. Opus Dei is just some catholic group with arcane beliefs. Doesn't George W and HW Bush belong to Skull & Bones? I would think they had more power. Mercedes Benzene
Apparently Skull and Bones has been described as "the most secretive organization in the world".WTF!How can say that a university alumni is the most secretive organization in the world? That's a load of nonsense in my opinion. What do they do? Practice ancient rituals trying to summon magical powers??It's just a bunch of people who want to one day hold powerful positions. It's nothing more complex than a bunch of 8 year-olds forming a club in a tree house in Boo Radley's back yard. Any money they have likely comes from their rich WASP parents and goes towards buying red candles and plastic skulls. :) Stupid cults. Opus Dei is just some catholic group with arcane beliefs. Doesn't George W and HW Bush belong to Skull & Bones? I would think they had more power. Opus Dei was founded in 1928 in Spain by Msgr. Josemaria Escriva and is both a Catholic lay and clerical group that exists today. The Priory of Sion was founded in France in 1956 by Pierre Plantard. His story that it dates back to the Merovingian Dynasty is a hoax. The two groups are not connected except in Dan Brown's brain!
