Relativity, theory of

saw a thing on the history channel last night about einstein and his theory of relativity.

it showed how scientists prooved light bent as it passed by the sun.

a red flag went up in my mind. i remember hearing something about how light travels in waves. if this is true i theorised that light did not bend because of gravity. instead it bent because the sun disrupted the waves, the same way an object disrupts waves in a pool of water.

what's your thoughts about this?

Light bends around the sun because of gravity, it bends towards the heaviest objects closest to it.

Light travels as particles, in small packets, called photons, not waves.

However light has a spectrum. There are a whole range of different color light in the spectrum. The spectrum is measured as a wavelength. We can only see a small portion. Infared light is a type of light on a different part of the spectrum. Our visable light and infared light are both light, just on different parts of the spectrum.
