Can anyone Identify this colony

To ID I would recommend some sort of selective media. 3M makes a wide range of "petri-films" that are selective and could give you a good idea of what general type of bacteria you are dealing with. To specifically ID it you would need to stain it and run a narrowing series of selective media, or run it on a bio-log (or something like that) auto-mated ID system.

Man, am I glad to see people talking about these colonies! My family makes fun of me for growing mold and getting excited by it, and I have felt very alone with this interest. Not that I am knowledgeable about it as you are, but it fascinates me.

Red mold seems to be the hardest to get.

I had some mold that sort of looked a drawing of an eye, or a solar system, and I kept it for a long time.

I kept some mold in a plastic container, until all the air was consumed and the plastic was sucked in by a vacuum. I didn't know this would happen, and I was delighted by what was a new discovery for me.
