Methyl tertiaryButyl Ether (MTBE) contaminating the water

Recommended Posts

Its nasty stuff. Its basically impossible to clean up, and we're all drinking it now.

California has outlawed it and its being phased out, but as a result, it gives the Oil Companies a reason to jack up our gas prices. Even with years of notice, they claim that they don't have enough Ethanol-additive (MTBE alternative) capacity to handle the switch. Oddly enough, Union Oil switched to Ethanol almost as soon the law was passed.

Turn on your tap and get hot and cold running crud, :)
