ronthepon
I found this little term mentioned on one of science buddies projects site. (http://www.sciencebuddies.org/mentoring/project_ideas/Genom_p003.shtml?from=TSW) What is it all about? Any info?
ronthepon
None? Is this term foreign to everyone?
InfiniteNow
Is that like scientific notation? Maybe it's something like: [LATEX]In(flu ^enza)[/LATEX] :hihi: Slight bump for Ronthepon's question, because I'm now also curious. :) :cup:
ronthepon
Is that like scientific notation? Maybe it's something like: [math]In(flu ^enza)[/math] :hihi:  ! You could have done it better as [math]In(flu^{enza}))[/math] Anyway, does H5N1 pose as an example?
CraigD
I found this little term mentioned on one of science buddies projects site. …What is it all about? It appears to be an exercise in comparing vaccine viral DNA to wild viral DNA, the end in mind being predicting the effectiveness of the vaccine. It focuses on using a DNA sequence comparison tool called BLAST (Information and downloads available here) Thought I don’t know much about the algorithm(s) used by BLAST, it sounds as if it implements something similar to the solution to the LCS problem that the Unix diff program implements.
