Thunderstorms And The Matter Spectrum

Thunderstorms involve all the 4 states of matter

 

* Hail / Sleet - solid

* Rain - liquid

* Wind - gas

* Lightning - plasma

 

Is there something more surreal to this jaw-dropping array of atmospheric pyrotechnics ?

Clouds contain water droplets, water vapor, ice (if high/cold enough) and if enough sun light sure there are at any moment some free electrons making up fou your plasma.

And the states of matter are many more ;-) Just some cool examples are superfluid and superconductive state
