pljames
There's the explainable and the none explainable. Why can't science accept the unexplained? People disappear all the time no explanation proof just theory. Theory explains everything to a point then the point or points are just guesses. Question, how can anything be created from nothing or vice versa? The thought is a idea then is invented materially. Does our language be it written or spoken create our thoughts which create our ideas which we turn into material possessions? Does the word science really equal knowledge? How far can knowledge take us before we self destruct? A rock can kill one person a atom bomb thousands. Is this a rational thought killing? pljames
Rade
Does the word science really equal knowledge? You ask too many questions in a single post. For this question, you are very close to correct, you must clarify what you mean by knowledge. We see the root of the word science in dictionary is from the Latin word <scire>, which means 'to know'. However, VERY IMPORTANT ! There are logically two different ways to know anything (1) with certainty and (2) with uncertainty. Science is the second way, so we must always say that SCIENCE EQUALS UNCERTAIN KNOWLEDGE. Thus, we hold this truth, if you claim to have certain knowledge of anything, you did not gain such knowledge via application of scientific thinking or method of analysis (e.g., observation, hypothesis, experimentation, facts, laws, theory). Very good point. But what about intuition? What about experience, those things opposite of science or method? There are truths and there are opinions. If there is no truths then there are only opinions? Paul You ask too many questions in a single post. For this question, you are very close to correct, you must clarify what you mean by knowledge.
