paigetheoracle Posted January 8, 2010 Report Share Posted January 8, 2010 I'm afraid I flipped my lid, when I accidentally turned onto a program about this subject, on radio 4 in the UK. Children are being mutilated (An instance was given, of a neighbour chopping off a child's penis, for a magical spell) as well as sacrificed to gain fame, money etc. To me science should be able to step in here, through statistics, to prove that material gain comes from your own individual effort and not superstitious luck. Rabbits feet, lucky coins, throwing salt over your shoulder and similar rubbish, is used by losers betting on horses and this is no different. Always people want short cuts to wealth, power and fortune, and this insanity is just another sign of this craziness and laziness (takes no effort to kill somebody but to put your nose to the grind stone and 'work' to get what you want - that is something else!). I hate stupidity and this is the same as the Chinese wiping out Rhinos and Asiatic Bears, through wanting to make aphrodisiacs etc. from their body parts (Human or animal - the same brainless thread passes through it).
