I'm a technical writer in the software industry, and a fiction writer in my spare time. I happened to be looking up FTL technologies (well...theories) to see if I was up-to-date when I found the site. I hope it will be a productive association. I have a decades-old degree in biology, so I might bring a little of that to the table--but I'm sure you have working biologists here, so I can just chime in on simple stuff. I remember someone posting just about the exact same thing as you a while back, so there's bound to be some interesting discussions about FTL here.
