Last night I was meditating outside around 4am when I heard this insane sound coming from above me.... It was kind of scary. I thought they had landed. Some sound like screams.Heres a list of some of the owl calls each makes.Start with screech owlTry the Great Horned if these dont apply. Barred owls make some pretty weird noises too. Owl Calls & Sounds - All Species Referring to my handy Sibleys Guide to Birds, you can use the list I gave the first run response and add Barn OwlBurrowing Owl * Rare around here, and I have no idea how common it is in Florida. If you find a sound that is similar, you may want to google that owl again and look for additional pages carrying sounds, such as cornell.
