SaxonViolence
Friends, The title pretty much asks the question. I've enjoyed many of Isaac Arthur's videos over on "U" Tube. Then I remembered to be skeptical. Every wild-eyed Futurist with his own "U" Tube channel ain't necessarily a Prophet... Or are they…? ……Saxon Violence
fahrquad
I would love to know what videos of Dr. Asimov you are referring to. I have been a fan of his since about 1972. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isaac_Asimov
fahrquad
To answer your question, his work was science fiction, not science prophecy. He and his cohorts might have been lucky enough to have indirectly guided research in a given direction that may or may not have been successful, but Albert Einstein was not rushing to the news stand for the latest copy of "Astounding Stories". fahrquad
Sir Arthur C. Clark did come up with the idea of communications satellites however in 1945, 20 years before the launch of Intelstat 1. http://lakdiva.org/clarke/1945ww/https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intelsat_I

I should add that Dr. Asimov did create the "Three Laws of Robotics" which you can be sure will be incorporated into the programming of any household robots. SaxonViolence
Friends, ISAAC ARTHUR the "U" Tube Futurist. NOT; ISAAC ASIMOV the well-known SF Author. But thanks. Vmedvil2
Usually the only Futurist I listen to is Ray Kurzweil as he has been right like a billion times about what is coming in the future. I do not know of a Isaac Arthur as a futurist and if he can get futurist Ray Kurzweil to say it I will believe it based on Ray's amazing track record.
