Closed loop

picture e.g. a circle drawn on a sheet of paper and put your finger somewhere on the circle. As long as you are confined on the circle, you can't leave it; never. however; movement on a circle is 1 dimensional, and the sheet of paper is 2D. So we -being able to see 3 (spacial) dimensions- can move our finger to the left or right; and thus get off the circle.

So: getting out of a closed loop requires an extra dimension;
