From what I have seen this can be achieved by using some radio active elements or sodium in a vacuum in conjunction with a dipolar antenna. I am going by the work of Dr. T. H. Moray. A detector of some sort? I wish to detect the ambient EM energy level of the entire spectrum as a whole. I know how to build a tuner for a specific frequency, I just am not sure how to build a receiver that will receive the entire spectrum. The Earth is supposed to be one big capacitor charged with endless energy. This makes sense to me. Lightning is a dissipation of that energy. I do believe that it can be harnessed.
