As long as you don't make halogenated nasties, you can pretty much just play around and then reverse it back... I'm looking to synthesize 5-pentyl resorcinol or olivetol. I'd like to purchase the precursors (like a 3,5 dimethoxy benzyl alcohol) and / or the olivetol itself to match up on the school NMR. Fisher / Agros / that German supplier with the M...all stonewall you without directing to a school ID / account number... Any recommended online suppliers in the retail end of things ?
