Calculating Raman force constant

Recommended Posts

I am told the Raman spectrum of diamond consists of a single strong line at 1331cm-1. Assuming all carbon atoms are 12C I need to calculate the force constant for 12C-12C bond, when 1amu = 1.661 x 10-27 kg. :eek_big:

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Edit: I think I've actually got it - 626.5Nm-1 I make the answer?!
