  1. The book by Hawking...That does look interesting, I'll ck that out as well. Thanks! The videos by Sagan...yeah, that might would work! I'll see how that goes over with her. My sole concern is involving too much technical detail and overwhelming her.
  2. Can someone help me out with something? My eight year old is curious about origins so, I'm looking for a good & simple video(s) that explains the Big Bang Theory on her level. I've generally explained...but with kids...nothing is better than a good illustration! Anyone know of any online anywhere?

I hope this post doesn't piss anyone off...I need help with something! I used to be a member at Demonoid before it was temporarily closed down. Well, my account is apparently gone! And you have to have an invite code to register a new account... Does anyone have an account and they are feeling altruistic enough to give me a invite code? Please! :D
  7. I just read that you already seen the dentist and he did not do anything...oops. So, go see your primary care physician for a full workup.
  8. You could simply have something small stuck between your tooth & gums and it became inflammed. It's happened to me many times. Once I retrieved the object, the pain begun to subside as well as the swelling. but, yeah...also consider it could be a secondary condition of a possible serious primary (angina, etc as the above poster said). See your doc first...rule out this with some blood work, etc and if you come up clean...go see your dentist if it continues to bother you.
  9. The virus theory is very interesting and I think possible. Now, if someone seemingly got fat "over night" I would definitely investigate the virus theory. But, if there is genetic evidence...or they drastically changed lifestyles and it came after several years of a sedentary lifestyle...well... And there is the genetic factor, it is a fact that some races are more prone to obesity due to natural selection. Also, over processed foods are definitely a culprit. We all like our meals in a hurry...even the ones we fix at home. I know I do not like staying in the kitchen longer than needed. Preservatives...additives...
  10. We had some blackeye peas that had been in a container in our fridge since about the week before Thanksgiving. Well, we forgot about them and my roommate pulled it out today and looked inside to find the weirdest growth ever! I wish I had taken a picture of it before I poked around in it! No kidding...it looked just like a small beaver was living in there! There was a large puff of "fur" on one side of the beans that was brown with with black "fur"...very long too! I've seen alot of growths on food, but never anything like this! I've been trying to find it on the internet, but no luck yet. Anyone have any idea what this could have been? It looked like a freaking animal living in that bucket! It scared me when I looked inside! I actually jumped and quickly put the lid back on for fear the creature was going to jump out at me! lol :)
  11. While it may have been long, it was excellent! i really enjoyed it.
  12. 28...but i am quickly creeping up on 29 in three months! ::gasp::
  13. NOD32...never had a problem with it! It doesn't use hardly any system resources either! OS: Win XP Pro
