  1. This is fascinating. So this means the microturblances and increased ion kinetic energies accounts for the 10 nanoseconds of "unknown energy" that pushed back?
  2. The new science described in this article is a testament to the worth of the Hubble, and the need for keeping it operating as long as it's useful -- which could and should be a long time. The article was also detailed, informative and well-written. -- Troas
  3. I'm unfamiliar with the protocol and manners involved in such forums as this, this being the first I've ever signed up for. Pertinent biographical data follow. I'm a retired news reporter, living in sparse but comfortable circumstances in the woods of West Michigan. I was a police reporter for more newspapers than I can recall over more years than I'm prepared to admit. I am a washed-out astronomer, one so-trained, but who never worked in the field. I am a lover of science from a family of scientists. I am, with the forebearance of an understanding bride, attempting to teach myself the craft of fiction-writing. The status of this task is so-so. I am 57, married (37 years now) with two daughters and one granddaughter, and two dogs who like to wander the woods as much as do I. Thanks for your interest, niviene.
  4. It's a plesure to join the group.
