Does The Earths Electromagnet Field Effect Our Memories?

i was watching some random video on youtube that showed a scientist talking about space, he stated that the first russian in space lost all of his memories after about 7-14 days, and nasa had to go and bring him back to earth.so then they sent another man into space, and the very same thing happend to him as well.the scientist said nasa discoverd the cause of the memory loss, that they found that it was because of the astronaut leaving the earths magnetic field, they solved this issue by developing a box that would imitate the earths magnetic field, this box would be connected to the astronauts suit.

i have watch a ton of documentries about space, and i have never heard of such a thing happening, to me, this makes no sense at all.

have any of you ever heard about this?

could this even be possible?

From the deductive pov:
I mainly wonder, if this were the case why is not common knowledge? I mean, we all know that astronauts have to train a lot everyday to not loose too much muscle tissue due to low gravity. If this magnetic field effect were to be real we would hence know it.

It also implies that this effect should also be noted depending on where you are on earth, no?

From the scientific pov:
A little research and knowing that the magnetic field of earth is weak shows that such a box would be possible. But other research shows that eg. ISS is still were the field is strong...

But a little in your defense, it seems not impossible: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-3064471/Cosmic-rays-cause-brain-damage-Radiation-leave-astronauts-confused-unable-make-decisions-finds-study.html
but you have to go further out for that
