Turtle Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 I can't seem to find a good printable onto 11 inch by 17 inch paper on the web of Fuller's Dymaxion Map of Earth. I have a friend coming who wants a coppy. One Turtle Rep Point Of Brotherly Conduct For the First One to Find Me One.Where is that darn Waldo anywhere, anywho, anywhat? :) :) :) :) Quote
Turtle Posted December 9, 2005 Author Report Posted December 9, 2005 Found it:http://bfi.org/node/25Scroll down; the file is a .PNG, only 400 pixels or so, but it's at a resolution of 96000 or so. Save the image, open it, I used Photostudio Five that came with my scanner, & then edit the size - I scaled it up by 1000%. Going to try a print... Quote

GAHD Posted December 10, 2005 Report Posted December 10, 2005 This is a cool map, thanks for letting me know about it. Quote
Turtle Posted April 10, 2006 Author Report Posted April 10, 2006 The map I linked to simply useless for my purpose...well, a decent version is only for sale. The contest is still on; I want a clear & free version of Fuller's Dymaxian Projection Map of Earth, the least distorting projection EVER invented/discovered by a human. Quote

TheBigDog Posted April 10, 2006 Report Posted April 10, 2006 Special delivery... Stand by... Bill Quote
Turtle Posted April 10, 2006 Author Report Posted April 10, 2006 TheBigDog said: Special delivery... Stand by... Bill I encountered yet more problems with that version. It appears to be the same one from earlier. I may have done something wrong, but I can't zoom in & the map is blurry. Is this really this hard? I tried quite a few sources before posting the contest back in December with little luck. BigDog gets a prize, but the contest isn't over. I want something with sufficient detail to actually use the darn thing like I would a Mercator or other projection World Map. I want both lattitude & longitude as well as the triangle overlay so I can make comparisons. I want political borders, etc. etc. A usable dymaxion world map. Please...if one even exists. If not, shall WE make it? Is it perhaps patented? Why is this so darn hard? :cup:  Quote
