  1. Thanks exchemist. The question comes from a well experienced university lecturer. And this is not the first time for him to ask very confusing questions. I don't know what he expects from us.

  3. A heat engine operates between two reservoirs at 300k. During each cycle, it absorbs 200 calories from the high temperature reservoir. Calculate: (a) The maximum efficiency of the system (b) The maximum works the engine can perform in each cycle The problem is giving me tough time because the temperature range doesn't give two figures - it's just 300k. May somebody tip me please!

I want to correct you by saying I can't change the rules because I am not trying to change the rules, but my understanding of the university rules I feel like the rule is not applicable to my case based on the weaknesses I have observed. As I said that the conditions imposed on students with repeat course (s) does not show any relationship with the reason to withdraw a student who has managed to pass some repeat courses despite failing another course (s).
  5. There is a certain university in Malawi with a rule which says an undergraduate student who fails a repeat course (s) shall be automatically withdrawn from the university. However the rule is non-compliance to the rules and regulations imposed on students with repeat course because no rules says about the number of course one has to pass in order to proceed to the next level. It is also a rule that a first year student who achieves a cGPA of 2.00 shall qualify for the progression to the second year regardless of any failed course (s). So as a first year repeating student, can I challenging the university decision at the court of law using the contradiction of their rules and regulations as evidence?

  9. Convert the following anles to radians as multiples of π. (a) 540° (b)-111° Solution. 540° × π/180° = 3π -111 × 1/180° = -37π/6 One thing I don't understand is presenting the answer as the multiples of π. May someone help please!

  12. QUESTION. Suppose that A is a second quadrant angle with sin A = 1/4. Determine the exact value of sin (A/4). I'm clueless. May someone help please!
  13. Another thing I have learned is not to post a question without showing one's effort. However there are some instances whereby one can have no clue towards the encountered problem. So should that be a reason to restrict clueless students from seeking help?

  17. What does it really means to say plot a graph of current against tan theta in terms of allocation on X and Y axis? I mean which variable should be on X or Y axis?
