From a percussionists point of view this quickly leads me to believe you don't know much about music. Assuming your listening to music with a percussive rhythm section, the sole purpose of the drummer is to keep *count* of the song. It doesn't just apply to drummers though, any musical instrument can be played in triplets, 1/8th notes, 1/4 notes, and those can be played in any of the almost infinite time signatures. That's a lot of counting. :phones:

Greetings Hypographites! I am a young man from the Puget Sound region of the Pacific Northwest. I'm deeply concerned with the condition of the world we're living in and I undoubtedly found this forum by researching such topics. Most of my intrigue is focused towards the environmental impact we are having on the planet and the impact the environmental systems are having on us in return... Quite an interesting relationship I must say. My scope of interest is quite broad. I enjoy reading on Philosophy, Theology, Metaphysics, Geology, Meteorology (any atmospheric sciences for that matter), Psychology, Sociology, and so on... basically anything that will temporarily satisfy my endless curiosity!! I'm Happy to be a member of this forum. There are so many brilliant minds here and so much information to be thought over.. I'm sure I'll be quite happy here. Thanks!!
