  1. Here's something interesting. I found this today: http://www.AIAS.com/us Myron Evans is a Welshman who has developed a new math to accomodate his GUT which so far has led to a new kind of MRI without heavy magnets. I do not pretend to understand the math, I only read fast. It seems from the web that there are quite a few that have offered new theories but of course the test of a theory is being able to make predictions as to future discoveries and/or solutions based on your therory. The current hot topic is how our sun, Sol, interacts with our planetary magnetic field. The article in this month's NG was absolutely thrilling in as much as know so little and have so much to learn. Quite possibly a Unified Theory of Everything is just around the corner, but right now it is interesting to see the sci-fi and imagine that it is real. One site I saw with quite a bit of substantiating material, said that the interreation with the magnetic fields, of which he posed 6 for the Eath at about 30-40 degree latitudes but north and south of the Equator caused massive ejections of radioactive material from the earth's fields of energy and you do have to admit there is OKLO. I like his idea, which is based on the Gaia hypothesus, better than attributing radioactive sites to a nuclear war in the far distant past.
  2. My computer ability is about 2 but I have a great idea--or what seems to me like a great idea---and it may not be implementable right now but maybe later...... In the sites with chat forums, such as this, it is not convenient to have to run the list of replies, clicking, clicking, clicking. My thought is to have your forums on one page with just a round dot representing each comment, lined up in rows and as your mouse passes over each dot, it would enlarge into a biggger dot, such as a magnifier and allow you to read what is under the lens at the time, would give a good idea of what the commenter is saying without having to go to the trouble of clicking, clicking........And you could just pass on, pausing over each dot, reading the magnified comment and then going on. You could look at each comment with out leaving the page, without leaving the line of dots really. So are we there yet? Can it be done?
  3. Well, all that is good, but remember how unintended consequences come along with intended consequences. I have an interest in ADHD and the various theories that attend its origin but I found the most interesting web site that has to do with stem cells. At http://www.cordcutting.com, a retired doctor has a lot to say about the dangers of cutting the umbilical cord before the cord has ceased infusing. It began, it seems, when Moms were alarmed at the appearance of newborns tinged yellow--a temporary pehnomena but with the dissemination of information after the ww11, the jaundiced condition was something to be feared, not tolerated, so the drs began to cut early to keep the blood from saturation and make the (temporary) jaundiced condition a non-event. Later, it seems like a good idea when drugs that eased the delivery saturated the infant also. So, here we are at a time when most cords are cut before infusing is finished and now the blood is in demand. Quite a serendipitous event if it were not for the fact that the early cutting caused serious problems. Only lately have studies been done to demonstrate that as long as three years later, the babies still had insufficient iron levels. And, at the time of birth, serious complications can arise caused by insufficient oxygen. The doctor speculates cerebal palsy is the direct result of insufficient oxygen due to early cord cutting. Very frightening, especially now so, since the blood is in demand and pressure will be to obtain even more than previous. Quite a lot to consider in this time of making a profit out of anything you can and the babies can't speak for themselves.
