  1. ? Wolfgang Pauli? And I don't speak German. I was simply asking if there are any currently known laws of physics that would support such a thing.
  2. After reading about how to form diamonds from charcoal, peanut butter, and a microwave, I got to thinking about REAL ways to form a diamond :phones:. Now, I've recently had an interest in the extreme heat created by a thermite reaction, and what greater uses it may have. I speculated the heat may be useful in forming some sort of compound. Tonight I thought of diamonds. Did a quick search and found that the first creators of artificial diamonds had indeed used thermite reactions to produce enough heat to form diamonds from graphite (with great pressure included). Getting close. Now, if we are to assume the equation will always be heat + pressure + carbon = diamond, isn't it physically possible for one of the variables in the equation to be replaced with something of greater or equal value? MY thought is on replacing the pressure requirement with a resonance or vibration that would fascilitate the crystalization of carbon out of a high heat thermite reaction. I had heard it speculated (by the first artificial diamond creators I think) that a high presence of carbon in the molten themrite reaction would naturally force the metal to phase out the carbon as a crystal under high pressure. Perhaps a carbon crystal of diamond can be formed in much the same way if it were aided by the vibration/resonance of a diamond, or something that fascilitates the carbon to structure itself into a crystaline diamond? Isn't there some sort of physics that might support this theory?
  3. I believe the terminology for manners of the supernatural is ill deffined, and not well know. Generally, my understanding is that the "soul" is the union of your physical body, spirit (eternal form of energy/conciousness), and mind (ego, I suppose). Based on the real experiences of myself and others (wont get into it unless you ask :hyper: ), this world we live in is a part of a superconciousness/"god"/ the intersecting point of all energies, things. Everything we experience in reality (waking and dreaming) descends from that. There are levels of reality and spiritual dimensions, all interwoven in ways science and words cannot fully describe yet. You have the physical world, then the lower astral planes which coexist with what we experience everyday in the physical world, then in the higher levels laws, places, and most things change. The higher planes are higher energy states. It is noted that as the conciousness rises through the levels, the ego begins to be striped away until you get to the highest level, which is the superconciousness/energy which reall has no ego of its own. The physical reality is a manifestation of thoughts and energies from the higher realms, and the laws of the physical world are very fragile, in that one little change can throw it out of whack and "break the dream" so to speak. Other realms don't share in such hard laws, as can be easily observed when you dream. The physical world is a uniques existance, one where conciousness can diverge and experience things with its own ego. Here, in our physical existance, we can do things that can't be done is other spiritual planes, and experience things in completely different ways.
  4. Does the rate of hydration, or absorbtion and assimilation of water into plant cells play a large role in the growth rate of plants?
  5. Thanks. True that temperature and chemicals can effect surface tension, but it's also the arrangement of the water molecules too, isn't it? I'd be looking for physical (not chemical or temperature) methods of changing that. From what I know, pure water and distilled water have very low surface tensions, and are largely pure H2O. However, I have heard also that plant fluids would have a low surface tension of about 40 dynes/cm, and possibly other natural "organic" fluids may have similar values of surface tension. Tap water, would usualy be about 80 dynes or higher. Also, in some studies related to global warming and atmospheric conditions, it's shown that there is a relationship between the enrgy given off by the light of the sun, which is absorbed by water DEPENDING on its vibration, state, and structure. The variablity in the properties of water means it has the ability to absorb wide spectrum of energy in the electromagnetic spectrum (mostly in the longer wavelengths). Anyway, my point is there are different influences that can effect water down to the molecular level.
  6. Hello all :) . Any knowledge appreciated. What exactly determines the surafce tension and effectiveness of cappillary action in water? How can the surface tension of water be lowered? Are there any sort of devices (products or do it yourself) that can achieve this? I ask these questions because I have seen that a lower surface tension in water would seem to enhance the capillary action in plants, because of cohesion/adhesion properties. I grow plants, and have studied water for some time, and have realised that hydration is key to growth. It's a simple hop and a skip to make the conclusion between low surface tension and increased hydration, it's very factual. My main concern is in figuring out how to lower the surafce tension of the water, though I think I may have found a good product, meant for reducing scale in pipes, though they say it also does this through lowering the water's surface tension. Thanks for any help :) .
  7. I'm new here, obviously :) . How are you guys doing? Got a couple questions about water tension that I'll be asking in the physics forum, maybe they belong in chemistry instead?
