Divide And Conquer - A Different Approach To Vr Bci Research

Hey guys, my name is Harris and I go by "Vortex" online. I am a computer science and engineering major currently very interested in brain computer interfaces. A while back I made a forum ( http://nerve.boards.net/ ) that was dedicated to the research of VR BCI. I am also very involved with research communities focusing on BCI such as DigiAxon, an international research team, NeuroTechX a open community focused on general BCI, and others.

I came here to ask for your guy's help. As the school semester is picking back up for me, I have limited amount of resources to conduct research. I would like to propose some topics, that hopefully people can claim, research and then report back their findings. I believe that this would provide greater structure to the research instead of conceptualized discussion.

  • Miniturization of Brain Imaging Devices (EEG/EMG/fMRI)
  • Focused Ultrasound Muscle Paralysis(?)
  • Manipulation of sleep paralysis chemicals
  • Methodology for combined TMS and EEG
  • Could tDCS be used in this application?
  • Determine the regions of olfactory bulb; Can we send electrical signals to the olfactory bulb to stimulate various regions of the olfactory bulb thus creating certain smells?
  • fMRI + EEG/EMG for higher spatial and temporal resolutions
  • The work of EEG+fMRI Frank Scharnowski
  • The work of TMS in the visual cortex by Alvaro Pascual-Leone, Vincent Walsh, Lotfi Merabet, and Amir Amedi.
  • other topics as they arrive....

If any of you decide to look into these, thank you very much. If you have any suggestions please post them here. Also, I highly suggest looking into the forum ( http://nerve.boards.net ) I created, as I am trying to keep organized, easy-to-find research.
