There is a treatment apparently for HPV and The Cancer associated with it.

Please explain KAC, and state some opinion..

This is obviously a serious problem yet to be discussed here.

I've heard there will be a Vacine for HPV soon.

Apparently its all the rage thanks to Russian Immigration. :)

That would be the treatment I am refering to. My opinion is thus: Pornography is the resonsible facet of society and proper outlet for the Prevention of STDs. They do poorly in this and many other things.

It is also the domain of the Schools to teach Safe sex and the associated prevention methods above and beyond Birth control. The effectiveness of said methods and the associated costs. Once again, in america at least, the schools do poorly in this and many other things. They, the schools, are clearly uncomfortable with teaching these subjects. The parents don't help either.

I was lucky enough to have a parent whom didn't mind discussing, or making available the materials to learn about the subject of sexual health and hygene.

No thank you, if I wanted to I would look up the material myself.

Cervical Cancer & HPV Vaccine.

Our sex culture is a subset of our pleasure culture and we have issues with the acceptance of our need for pleasure. Pornography could play a crucial role in proper sexual etiquette and play. Latex is something that should arose people, cause damnit, it's one of the best for preventing the transmission of just about any STD. Condoms should not only be provided, but should also be flaunted as things of pride. I personally favor condoms, for the rare cercumstances that I need them.

Consider if humans were dumb animals and knew little about disease. The affects of STD's would thin the herd, starting with those with the most unnatural sexual orientations and behaviors. It is cause and affect. Mother nature is attempting to restore balance, with natural behavior not really affected as much by the plague. Because we are smart animals, we can continue the unnatural orientations and behaviors, because someone bails us out.

A good analogy is putting one's hand in the fire. After one attempt, even most pea brains will figure out cause and affect. Culture twists it around and blames the fire for being hot and treats the pea brained as victims of the fire, even though they constantly sticking their hand in the flame. Behavior has nothing to do with STD, it is the disease's fault. From the point of view of economic prosperity, it is good to have a lot of pea brains who are unable to think in terms of cause and affect; one will always have a large market for treatment and drugs.

Here is a scenario; stop all STD drugs and see what happens. We will no longer heal people who stick their hand in the flame, but will tell them the flame is hot and will burn you. One needs to accept responsiblity for their actions and live with the consequences. Does anyone have an opinion as to what the final group of survivers would comprise?

Seriously Rac... the herd does need a bit of thinning. I don't want to be the one who gets thinned, nor those with whom I associate. However, from an academic and more abstract level, we need slow down the populational expansion.
…Here is a scenario; stop all STD drugs and see what happens.
To my thinking, though thought-provoking, such ideas are ultimately impractical.

What they amount to is that people in my profession – health care – would be required to withhold simple, cost-effective treatment in such a way as to directly contribute to patients’ physical, social, and reproductive debilitation, and, in many cases, preventable death. To most health care provider, such scenarios are offensive in the extreme. Unless nearly the entire profession is systematically suppressed, exiled, and/or exterminated, (such as actually happened in Cambodia in the 1970s, when as many as 5,000,000 or 40% of the population, including nearly 100% of trained, western medical staff, were killed) it is nearly inconceivable to me that such a scenario could occur.

This is a very extreme idea HydrogenBond. With out a doubt, education is key,and people do need to accept responsiblity for their actions and live with the consequences. But how about a woman who is raped and contracts an STD?Certainly an exception.

How about other irresponsible behaviors:

Smoking- Surely smokers know the risk;stop all treatment for tobacco related health problems.

Drinking-Even moderate drinking can be bad for ones health;stop all treatment.

Over eating-Obesity is one of the biggest(and costliest)health issues in America today.

You get the idea,I could go on but the point is that no longer helping heal people"who stick their hand in the flame" would have an effect on many, not just

those with STDs.

The affects of STD's would thin the herd, starting with those with the most unnatural sexual orientations and behaviors.

I imagine early humans were affected by STDs.It didn't seem to rid us of "unnatural sexual orientations and behaviors." Those who have the most sex with the most partners would be the most likely to contract an STD. Promiscuity is not unnatural. Not sure why STDs would weed out unnatural sexual orientations and behaviors.

Medical examinations for you and your partner(s)and proper use of contraceptives is how to control STDs.Abstinence is of couse the only surefire way to completely avoid STDs.Whether that teaching method is working for our young ones is an issue for another thread.

Does anyone have an opinion as to what the final group of survivers would comprise?

A Utopian society with rainbows and bunnies and no more bad things ever again?
