Cedars
Well I am still learning about this site and I have to say, I really like it. Good bunch of people all around. For those of you who have given me rep points, THANKS! I only recently discovered that part in the User CP so I missed some comments. Its a really cool feature (rep points and comments). It really helps to know when people read and respect a point of view, even if the debate going on is heated and opposing. Minds may not be changed, but hey, thats diversity for ya! What I am wondering is, what is the usual response to someone adding rep points with comments? Should I PM the person and let them know its appreciated? Should I PM the person and let them know its appreciated? There really is no "usual" response. If you want to respond, feel free. If not, leave it be. You can always return a good rep by finding a good post by the person who gave it to you and give good rep back. However, beware of giving negative rep just because someone has given it to you, though...it may be deserved and avenging it is not a good idea. :hihi:
Cedars
OK so I have started adding rep points to people and I have a question. Today I added to two people.Ones rep points went up right away, the others rep points stayed the same. Is this because I added reps in a row? Will the rep points show up later for the one that did not? Is there anyway I can find out where I have added rep points like, when and who? Thanks! Jay-qu
Their rep points would have gone up, you cant see the actual number of points they have, just their rep power and the blue boxes  because these take a lot more than 17 rep (your rep altering power) you wont notice a difference unless you happen to be the repper that moves them up to the next level :)
Cedars
Ah Ha! I meant Rep POWER, not rep points. So are you saying that my 17 rep power means a whole bunch more than 17 people added to my rep?
Tormod
Yes, a LOT more than 17.

Cedars
So your saying If I get high Rep Power/Rep points, if I give points to another user they could get more points than if a new person gave them points?

Racoon
 No post padding there! :eek2: Rep power is also enhanced by your number of posts Cedars! Orby is second to none other than the man upstairs himself... You have an excellent Rep Power Cedars, in ratio with your post count. It is because you are a good poster and people like you here! I would recommend viewing Cedars posts and links in the Birdwatching thread. found here: http://hypography.com/forums/earth-science/2339-birding-21.html :hyper: :) Queso
