Heres an Herb most of you should be familiar with...

WHITE WLLOW BARK (Salix alba):

For centuries, a derivative of this bark called 'salicum' was used to break fevers, soothe headaches, and reduce pain and swelling in arthritic joints. :)

Based on their studies of Salicum, researchers derived the synthetic drug called "acetyl salicylic acid: Aspirin! :)

However, Unlike aspirin, which can cause Stomach irritation, White Willow contains 'tannins' which are Good for the digestive system...

It is a Great aspirin Substitute!

here is one...

Leonotis leonurus, Wild Dagga - Lion’s Tail

Leonotis leonurus is used by the Xhosa tribe and Hottentot tribe in South Africa for its inebriant and euphoric effects. The flowers are often added to tobacco or other herbs and smoked. Alternatively a tea is sometimes made. It has been reported that the Leonotis leonurus flowers are the most potent part of the plant and hold the highest concentration of Leonurine which is responsible for its special effects. :)

Todays Herb..... is a Fruit!! :)

PAPAYA (Carnica papaya)

If you gotta' pop an antacid or 3, then you should hook up with this herb! :)

Papaya contains 'Papain' which is chemically similar to our enzyme Pepsin.

It aids in the Breakdown and metabolism of protein.!

Antacids aren't that good for you because of a Rebound effect in acid production.

But No such side effects occur with Papaya! :)

Take 1 tablespoon of Juice, or 1 -3 tablets daily..

Or you could just eat one. They're delicious.

Switching Gears a little bit here.

AromaTherapy :hyper:

Something I have been looking into. My friend said Aromatherapy is for sissies, but I disagree.

From the handful of studies that have been done DO reinforce the theraputic value of Essential Oils. :hyper:

Quickly: Inhaled through the nose. Oils stimulate Olfactory organs. Linked to Brain that control Emotions...

Quickly: Rubbed on the skin. Nerve reaction. Reaction passes up until the pituitary. chemical reactions. controls Stress and Relax.

To the extent of their benefit is variable to the individual and application.

I have made my own Lavender Oil.

But I have purchased a few oils. Tea Tree Oil is great for the skin, and keep a dropper bottle in my Safety Kit.

Here is a short List of oil and "belief" of response:

Bay Leaf - increase psychic awareness

Camphor - increase energy

Cedar - increase spirituality

Jasmine - promotes sex love, and sleep! :hyper:

Lavender - Good all around

Lemon Verbena! - increases feelings of love

Myrrh - promotes healing

Peppermint - sharpens conscience

Sandalwood - Aphrodisiac

Ylang ylang - promotes sex and love

There are Many more..

What do you think??

Should this be Explored a little more?

What are your experiences and thoughts??

BAYLEAF?

racoon could i trouble you to expand on "increased psychic awareness"?

is Bay Leaf psychoactive? or do you mean that in a Zen kinda way?

i believe you have a slight misunderstanding here. . .

Here is a short List of oil and "belief" of response:

Bay Leaf - increase psychic awareness . . .

I am somewhat doubtful that Racoon is actually suggesting bayleaf has psychic properties, but merely stating that it is/has been beleived by some to have this power.

am i right?

Right, Lori.

It is "folk" belief that Bayleaf, used aromatically, may enhance psyhic awareness. Zen like kinda way..

It won't trip you out.

I am learning a bit about this as a I go along... :)

I'm interesred more now on how to grow and make essential oils. :hyper:

how to use them.

There are so many....:hyper:

Still, not enough studies on AromaTherapy have been done.

Chicks dig it though! :hyper:

I'll post a little more later.

Any helpful thoughts??
