Fatalities in U.S. railroad accidents from 2005 to 2020

It seems U.S. railroad accidents kill a large number of people in the United States, read more at https://www.statista.com/statistics/428213/number-of-fatalities-in-rail-accidents-in-the-united-states/

 

I almost died yesterday to a train collision having to rear end a car to survive not being hit by the train and I think there should be safety standards at railroad crossings, do you agree?
