You didn't understand anything I posted, did you.

Wait a minute.  Is this Wellwisher?  The posting style is very similar - intense hatred for anything liberal, inability to understand basic science and lots of semicolons.

Yes, it's Wellwisher all right. The obsession with hydrogen bonding is a dead giveaway.

We could cut down on greenhouse gas emissions if planes hovered just above the ground and waited for the Earth's rotation to bring their destination to them. It would only work on the same latitude though but it could still significantly reduce the distance on most trips. :)

I really think part of the reason there are so many climate change "deniers" is media hype.  The media is not out to inform us of the world events of the day, but to sell us what it can pass of as news.  We always had extreme cold weather in the winter, but somebody coined the phrase "polar vortex" to make it sell.  Now they give names to winter storms, too.  Every time there is a little snow, they send their lower paid reporters to go stand in the street to act like it's exciting.   That is the sort of coverage that makes people roll their eyes.  When you get all excited and worked up about the ordinary things, people won't believe you when it is really bad.

Or better yet - just stop their motion with respect to the sun for a few minutes!  That way the plane stops while the planet speeds by at 70,000mph beneath you.  Of course you'd have to get the timing right.

Don't be silly, you'd end up at the wrong altitude. :)
