White Collar Criminals Extradition

I thought Britain was supposed to be an ally of The USA, yet we have no end of high profile cases of white collar criminals being extradited to America - why is this (The Nat West three and The Enron scandal, Gary McKinnon, who caught the military with their pants down, Christopher Tappin, caught in a CIA sting and now Richard O'Dwyer, accused of breaching copyright)? Back in 2009, The Home Office revealed that twice as many British citizens were being extradited to the USA as the other way round, which is interesting considering that America has a vastly greater population.

We can't get rid of moslem cleric, Abu Qatada, known for inciting hatred in the UK but easy targets going stateside, seems an easier answer. Is the world getting lazier and more cowardly or am I mistaking what is going on? Ever since George Bush junior came to power, torture seems to have come to a head and does it really get results? All torture seems to do is break a man's spirit and turn him as with The Manchurian Candidate (Brain washing) and The Stockholm Syndrome, into a sympathizer for the alternative cause but as a way of interrogating someone and getting the truth out of someone, it is wholly unreliable (bullying hurts and confuses people who will say anything to get it to stop, even if it is a known lie: In court, leading questions are dismissed for this very reason as the truth has to be voluntarily admitted, not forced out or it becomes suspect). When people relax they are more likely to let slip the truth than when they are on their guard against attack. A famous British WWII interrogator was known for this but unfortunately not famous enough for me to remember his name! (Saw an article about him in The British Daily Mail, several months ago, if anybody would like to track it down or Google it).
