Breast cancer isn't just a female issue

Recommended Posts

Although male breast cancer is very rare, men can get this cancer too.

Male breast cancer accounts for less than 1% of all breast cancers diagnosed in US. A large number of men with breast cancer do not undergo imaging prior to treatment either because mammography is not heavily advertised in the male community or because men also may be socially conscious about that part of their anatomy.

here's symptoms to look for from the Mayo Clinic

Knowing the signs and symptoms of breast cancer may help save your life. The earlier the disease is discovered, the more treatment options and the better chance of recovery you have.

The most common sign of breast cancer for both men and women is a lump or thickening in the breast. Often the lump is painless. Other male breast cancer symptoms include:

Skin dimpling or puckering

Development of a new retraction or indentation of the nipple

Changes in the nipple or breast skin, such as scaling or redness

Nipple discharge
