REASON
I think Tormod meant "palatal". ;) Ahhh! :hihi: Yep, I believe you're right about that. That actually makes more sense doesn't it? Sorry.

nutronjon
I am female, and prefer rounded lines. I dated a carpeter for awhile, whose cupboards had rounded rather striaght lines, and I thought the effect was very sensuous. He focused on quality instead of quantity and this impressed me well. I rather have the comfort of a regular bed, reverses a circlar one, however, a canopy adds to the attractiveness of a bed. There are some excellent murals, or you can create your own. Nature is appealing, and Venus is attractive. Pan, surely has his appeal. :) A bathroom that embraces nature and spills it into the bedroom works for me, as do sky lights, or glass doors that open to a naturally pleasing area. Lighting and music are also important, and I like idea of changing the lighting and music, because when we aproach sex, we like fantasy and variety. At least I do. Somedays it is nice to relax, and sometimes excitement is more pleasing. How hard would it be to use lighting and music for mood setting? There are fog lamps and many lighting choices. Ganoderma
if i have learned anything from my wife and romantic bedroom design it is this. Things must be difficult to navigate through (this means LOTS of various decorations scattered ervywhere in any order, but it does have a certain "flow"). the bed (or anything you are "using") cannot squeek! the biggest turn off, for me, is having to fix some damn thing that broke when your in the middle of, whatever! there must be lots of places to place pictures of you and her. if its hard to clean, its romantic. if its ugly as sh*t and looks liek something you would have bought stoned 20 years ago, its romantic. and if it as a funky-old-sweet smell (i don't mean our laundry), it romantic. personally i find the wavy wall type design cool :hihi: and bathroom designs that involve natural themes like rock, trees, wood etc are a big + cool water jets and stuff are good too. for me romantic is more like this hotel we stayed at when my parents visited us in Taiwan (not the best choice)...i will spare the pictures of all the tv's in this place that were playing porn when we came inside :eek2: infinite, what age bracket is this meant for? some people may prefer fancy designs, rocks, waterfalls etc....some of the more "mature" members here may prefer sandstone foot grips and wooden handrails... one thing is for sure, i am totally not into have the chain long enough for the hole LOL:naughty: InfiniteNow and freeztar
InfiniteNow
That's great. Thanks everyone. Ganoderma... I think that's a bit beyond the scope of the project, but it definitely gave me some great ideas. Thanks! :eek2:
Ganoderma
so you don't want me to try and find out where they bought their wallpaper? :)
Moontanman
We've been together for a good long while, actually. She's been helping me with projects, but we're both looking for ideas to make the bedroom more "zazzy." The room itself isn't bad at all, but I do need to expand the master bath and closet. They're both pretty small and tight as the house was built in the early 70s. I could actually use some ideas there, too. My front yard lacks "curb appeal." I recently painted the house which helped tremendously (it used to be a flat primer gray... on stucco... and now it's a rich chocolate milk color, with white milky trim. Seriously, do you have any ideas? Here's the basic layout: neighbor__|___F__|//My House//////|____F______| neighbor neighbor__| |//My House//////| | neighbor | |Dvway| *H* | |Dvway| *LO* *H* | |Dvway| *H* | |Dvway| *H* | |Dvway| *S* *H* | |Dvway| [MB] *H* ++++++++++++++++++ ++++++++++++++++++++++ street street street +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Where: F = fenceH = hedge (red tipped verdenia I think)LO = Live Oak (but it's still growing and only a few years old, so small)S = somewhat older tree of unknown variety, no flowersMB = brick mailbox If there is already a she involved in this my advice would be to let her do all the planning, make all the decisons and fix it up exactly the way she wants. Trust me, this will get you laid far quicker and more often than trying to make it sexy from your point of view no matter what your point of view is![EVIL][/EVIL]
InfiniteNow
Wise words, friend. :) Funny, too... I showed her some of the suggestions made in this thread, and she responded immediately, "Isn't that EXACTLY what I told you to do like two years ago!" I'll leave it to you to figure which suggestions about which she was commenting (and no, it had nothing to do with Barry White, octagonal beds, or whiskey dispensers). :)
freeztar
(and no, it had nothing to do with Barry White, octagonal beds, or whiskey dispensers). :) How's the landscape architecture going?
InfiniteNow
How's the landscape architecture going? Nothing major. We did spend some time last weekend moving stuff around. The honeysuckle we'd put in by the garage was struggling... really really bad (think concrete) soil, so we pulled that out and put it on the other side of the house, which turns out to be a good balance with the second honeysuckle we'd put in which is doing splendidly. I also moved the sage bush I'd planted near the entry, as it was getting too big, so it has a nice new home. We put down some pea gravel along the walk way (that same stretch of "concrete" soil), and put in some potted annuals we'd picked up from a few different local nurseries on Saturday on top of that gravel. It looks much better, and should be simpler to maintain. All in all, good stuff. TBH, though, I'm moving quite slowly on any and all house work. Still working on my project at work (which is taking a lot of hours) and studying Chinese at the university in parallel... I'm not feeling a lot of energy or available time to keep up with the house. :( Either way, though... I'll keep chipping away at things little by little. This weekends project is to get into the attic and finish a repair I started a few months ago... as I need to do so before our Texas summer hits and things get too much hotter. Cheers.

It just makes smile, and you can't top that! It's called Intensia® Star Brite, and is a Phlox hybrid:
