First off let me say I mean no disrespect. And if I seem brutally honest it's because it's my nature and belief in being forthright. There are a lot of things said in science documentaries and scientifically mined people that upset me. And they always speak with absolute certainty. Like this thing is perfectly well known and proven beyond a shadow of a doubt, like gravity. I wanted to ask you weather or not they were really true but then I thought it would be easier to ask you about science and our certainty of it in general. I've heard that scientists are supposed to be open minded

Hi everyone, Don't get me wrong, I know that science is very important and that it helps us a lot in our life, but my question is how Scientific Knowledge can help to the average man who is not a scientist? For example a simple worker in a factory, or a cashier in the supermarket, why should they learn biology, chemistry, physics, astronomy, cosmology and other scientific fields? What practical use do they have with this knowledge at home? Or at work? Why do they need it? (I'm talking about popular science level knowledge)

Hello, I'm Ojith. I'm new to the Forum. I need you guys ideas and explanations on my doubt. I usually work at night. Means about 10PM-3AM. I can and I have an ability to focus my mind exactly on the work I need to do other than day. So, I usually sleep at 3:30 AM & Wake up at about 9AM. It suites my day to day routine. But, I feel uncomfortable and I actually feels lazy and can't focus on work. But, I need to know about is it okay or not to, "Sleep in the Day & Work at Night". Do I actually need to sleep during 12AM-8AM? IS it essential? Do they cause any Health Issues? Is there any

Im trying to write a fan fic about a scientist who is working on something in the era of the New Republic. He does not believe in the Force in the way he doesnt think it controls fate. (He acknowledges, however, that there is an energy field that some sentients can manipulate) I just need something for him to be researching. It just has to sound cool and scientific. It can NOT be game-changing or something that can alter the story in a dramatic way Also it cant have already been done in Legends or Canon. I want a fresh idea. It cannot be -A time machine -A teleporter -A matter replicator

The Nanobots are robots that have a size not greater than an atom, so they are invisible to the human eye unless they are placed in the sight of a microscope. Its medical function has evolved with the passing of the years until today that, it seems to be a potent and effective cure of cancer, attacking strictly to the damaged cells and not to those in good condition, as it happens with other anticancer treatments where not only the cells that cause and allow evolution of this are exterminated, but also those whose system and structure are in optimal conditions. The nanotechnology applied to

The radical concept of a fuel-free ‘impossible’ engine has now gained far more credibility. In recent weeks, a leaked version of the paper stirred up controversy as it appeared to show that scientists had created a working EmDrive prototype. Now, the findings have officially been peer-reviewed and published. It’s said that the EmDrive could get humans to Mars in just 10 weeks, but experts have long argued that idea cannot be brought to life as the engine defies the fundamental laws of physics. Source

You will ask, exactly what is this project going for? , then, you should mainly know that it is financed by Fernando MartÃnez Gómez-Tejedor SL. First, The idea is to initially make a very economic and basic hardware, but fully functional, so that it is accessible to most users, with prices if possible, well below $ 20 per unit. This hardware allows you to send, receive and change all types of electronic currencies, commodities and currencies, which are registered to your property forever, and which have been transferred by other users. It's like having a universal bank account, with no f

Classical #physics predicts weight (W) should NOT change at increasing temperature (T) in vacuum. Relativistic #physics predicts W should INCREASE at increasing T in vacuum. My theory predicts W should DECREASE at increasing T in vacuum and can be found here yaniv-stern.webnode.com. W reduction at increasing T in vacuum disproves conservation of mass and most of the rest of #physics. Over the past ten years I contacted thousands of scientists to weigh a heated metal in vacuum and publish the results. I did Not get the results of the experiment. #ResultsRequired

Please do not steal my idea I am about to share with you. I am only 13 years old. We could build a supercomputer ( or a computer that can handle the amount of processing power needed for this ) that could calculate orbits, planets, how the gravity affects other objects, etc. Basically we input all known events I.E. big bang theory, dinosaurs, extinction, protoplanet hits protoearth and creates moon, Jesus is born, planetary geology, heat, radiation, GRB, life as we know it, and the list goes on and on. We can then make a massive and highly intelligent A.I. that is able to calculate things that

Can someone help me make a timeline from 2017-2050, with each year having one predicted future invention? You don't have to explain how the invention works; just an idea. One invention every year from now until 2050. Be creative. Be serious.

Hey everybody, newbie here. I am going on 38 and have a degree in IT back in 2009, I just lost my only job in the IT field and cant find anything else. I always liked geology and enjoy watching TV shows/documentary about it. I am a nerd, geek and movie enthusiast. I am thinking about going back to college for geology but just scared too because of money and not having a full time job for 4 years. I have some money saved
