I don't think there'd be a real difference no matter what angle that kinda object collided at, nor where it collided. At that speed it should have already crunched into a sphere from it's own perspective and a rather elongated oval from the earth's

That kinda speed there would be just pure annihilation in a direct path. If you're looking for some fancy words and pipe-dream knee-jerk physics (cause at that speed we're in "best guess" territory)..
-there would be some fusion/fission events and plasma discharge from the atmosphere, probably with enough heat and force to strip the atmosphere right off that area of the planet within minutes...but there wouldn't be time for that before...
-the mass would go though the planet in practically zero time(~ 0.00004 seconds), causing fusion/fission events the whole way though and eject from the opposite side. Think gunshot wound from a FMJ going though ballistics gel but the long hole would still have matter in it...matter going though a fair amount of fission/fusion events.
-Probably no appreciable deceleration of the object itself but likely it gives enough force to the stuff where it passed though to put a super-sonic geyser in place and eventually pump a continental chunk off into a different orbit around the sun over the next couple hours and weeks.
-the forces holding the matter together in and just outside the direct path would not be enough to keep doing that very well. Massive ionic plasma discharges comes from both "poles" of the impact line. Sudden pillar of light from both ends, ground itself "glowing" for miles around.
-a big old sudden jolt felt world-wide, just before two fire-storms of plasma rush around the planet from the impact-poles somewhere around the speed of sound, sterilizing everything in hot plasma-wash.
-oceans probably don't completely dry up, but most likely boil around the top for a couple days as the heat radiates.
-Lot of mixed H O Fe Si etc in pure atomic form reacting as it cools down from plasma being ejected from the active annihilation path over a couple months.
-Hole would mostly fill itself in over a couple years, active volcano at both ends.
-new tectonics for a couple millennia as things shift around.
-earth and moon gets rings like Saturn for a couple more millennia
-wait for life to condense a new non-reductive atmosphere and crawl out of the oceans.
Again, the "hole" wouldn't really change much weather it hit needle-first or flat-side, but the energies of the interactions would probably go beyond vaporizing and into plasma-fying everything in a wide radius of it's path.

The object itself would probably convert some mass to pure energy on its way though, but a good chunk of it would also likely just "miss everything" on it way though as well; since matter is mostly-empty and the normal EM holding stuff apart would be insignificant. It might realize it hit something and start to break-up on it's way out of the Oort cloud, though.

I think a small centrifuge combined with membrane filtration would  leave only water with the dissolved salt.

To get the salt residue just let the water dry.

Would that work? This is not my field of expertise.

There's a saying from one of my modern heroes, Lawrence Krauss. I think It applies equally here as it does when I see people misinterpreting other things like gravity or electricity or magnetism from the incomplete 5th-grade science similes they remember.
"The human brain evolved to avoid predators on the savanna, not to intuitively understand the laws of the universe"

There are a lot of studies, both scientific and social, that try to determine why people make silly decisions or hold silly beliefs. The best reasoning I've come across is closely related to that above observation. The same "natural" neural hardware that kept our ancestors alive through short-term dangers really screws with the ability to tell truth from fiction and make long-term judgements that contradict short-term panic decisions. In the past that shadow-movement out of the corner of the eye could have been a predator about to pounce, so the ones who got frightened and knee-jerk ready to run or combat survived more often. There's very little downside to a false-positive in that scenario, but today that same wiring is probably what leads to ghosthunters and the rabbithole of other "seen but not really recordable" phenomena.

Similarly the intuitive grasp of size & distance in the human brain can be boiled down to "bigger than me, needs two hands, needs one hand, smaller" and "in arms reach, within 10 seconds of sprint, farther." It takes training to be able to grasp sizes & distances outside of those categories. Most people who don't actively use dimensions in real-world applications cannot at a glance get anywhere close to the right measurements. Ask an average person how big their bedroom is they'll go "oh...kinda small" or "big enough for object, object and object." Someone in construction or some in real-estate will ballpark "around ten by twelve" or "100 to 150 square feet" (with the occasional few using meters). Dimensions take training to be understood. Dimensions that need optical assistance like microns or nano-meters compound this intuitive grasp problem many fold. "I can't see the holes" is the same as "there are no holes" to the savanna-brain, do not ask it to understand filtration, VOC, etc... on an intuitive level. It's just not going to happen.

    See Olber's Paradox

The assumption is for a universe that is infinitely old, with an infinitely large number of stars distributed homogenously in an infinite space.

In that case, the entire sky would be as bright as the surface of a star.

The resolution is the observed fact that the universe is finitely old and is expanding. This, coupled with the finite speed of light means that only a finite number of stars can be observed from Earth. Also, redshift of light, caused by the expansion, shifts observable light into the microwave range, as we see in the cosmic microwave background which does indeed fill the entire sky just not in the visible light range.

The OP (and some of the responses to the OP) is chock full of strange claims. In fact, it is just gibberish.

If you don’t agree, then feel free to back up any or all of the following claims and don’t forget to post supporting links:

In the absense of light (time) linear velocity shifts down to a lower dimension and starts to take on the qualities of a wave/frequency.

All higher dimensions drop one level and assume the properties of the lower dimension.

A particle drops out of the fourth dimensions and becomes a three dimensional being. It's linear velocity starts to take on the qualities of the first dimension (wave/frequency).

All manner of phenomenon can be understood if you consider that by removing light you are removing the foundation of time from the four dimensional reality.

Everthing that exists within two dimensions and higher will drop one dimension.

Whatever moved as a circular velocity becomes a linear velocity and everything that was a linear velocity becomes a wave/frequency displaying an interference pattern.

Can you give us some definitions of the terms you use, because I sort of see it as the same thing as the OP, seems to be just throwing out terms, you see it a lot in quantum mechanics, even just using the term 'quantum mechanics' as a conclusion.

You say time/light is not a dimension in and of itself.  So what is your concept of what a dimension is?

What is a dimension, unless you can define that it is just a word, same for 'wave' or 'particle', what specifically is a wave? and what is a particle?

So ask yourself what qualifies as a dimension? You could say that the 3 spatial dimensions are directions that we label X,Y,Z in that case a space dimension is a direction. But we know we can go in an infinite number of directions, so why only 3?

If time is a dimension, it does not have a direction at all. So the number of directions time can go is 1 (forward direction).

So if you can already go in any direction in space, what direction is a 'higher' or 'lower' dimension?

Then you bring up 'reality', but you bring it up as your interpretation of observations, but you are taking interpretations of 'wave' and 'particle' what is fundamental to reality.

So I think terms needs to be defined and pinned down as a basis for a debate, if the OP states that 'things can be explained' using X, then explain it using X.

    I don't know I'm rambling..

But let us know what qualifies for joining the Dimension club..

A lot of it has to do with neuroplasticity.

Older people tend to lose plasticity, most likely as an evolutionary mechanism: it takes a LOT of calories to keep the human brain running, so any corner that can be cut to save a few calls here and there ends up being cut. Same way if you don't actively work-out, you lose your strength and muscle mass. Use it or lose it. There's an Australian documentary series that goes a long way towards "fixing" common issues.

Some people(even kids) are just...deficient in plasticity. That makes it hard to learn and "make connections" in both the figurative and literal sense. Weather it's from some ASD issue, or a nutrient issue, or an injury.

Narrowing it down to computers: They are so common it's crazy so kids will be exposed constantly, practice constantly, and form transferable skills. The point-and-click and "icons" are common "skills" between smartphones weather they're android or apple, computers weather they're windows or mac or linux, etc... Same time most of them will never see what a command-line is and be utterly frustrated if they're put in front of one, and don't even think of asking most people to program a register on an MCU as that's also not a common transferable skill even among modern computer programmers.

Moving to generation-gap skills: Most modern kids cannot drive manual transmission. The very idea is frightening to them, so much so that a manual transmission is more effective than common anti-theft devices. A lot of them also cannot properly do things that used to be common knowledge like setting a choke or changing fluids; those are not really transferable skills from what they're exposed to, so stuff like electric mowers/clippers/blowers are more common and attractive to them.

There's a whole library about that kind of stuff if you dig into it. So in short; old people that take to new things usually have some comparable skillset they already learned they can base things off of. Young people that just can't learn probably have an "issue" that needs treatment.

A weird side-effect of the above: modern texting on cellphones often ignores punctuation. That has caused an interesting skillset division. Periods and proper grammar are perceived as "formal to the point of being rude" by a significant part of the upcoming generation. It's scary that movies and books predicted that.

I don't know, GAHD.  Much as I respect your views,  I go with Thoth on this one.   Even parts of your posts seem to lean his way.  Are we making robots of ourselves while we try to make humans of robots?  And we lose much.  The simple fun of learning and creating may not be the be all-end-all or our lives but do we want to give it up to a button plugged into our brains?  That is not a big deal compared to other things you and Thoth are talking about but they are us.  I do not really want to become a robot.  And that is what we become with this implanted mini-computer plugged in.  As in real life - to my constant torment - the mini computer will take control.

And who will create those minicomputers?  If they are all the same, life is boring. If they are different versions - well take a look at Apple versus Microsoft, Google and Firefox.  Our poor heads will reel with the competition

Carry on while I enjoy what is left of my freedom time.

The effect is due to convection currents in the cylinder. Bubbles rise in a column which becomes focussed in the center by pressure equalization, which draws fluid to move up from the center of the cylinder, then move radially at surface to edge of container, then down sides and along bottom back to center & up again. The small bubbles are trapped at the edge because their diameter/volume is greater than the downward moving layer/force along the sides of cylinder. See "Brazil nut effect" for an analog with granules.

Weird how the % fatality rate went down from 3.5% to 2.75% to now 1% in only 7 months WITHOUT ANY TREATMENT CHANGES. Almost like it's actual overall fatality is around 0.006 or less and was/is artificially spiked by high visibility sample sizes being burned out early on...

But heay, that's just statistics. Math is silly. Guess we'll find out if/when the burn-through finishes happening. Then again Flu season is coming up, I wonder if people will drop dead of the regular seasonal flu but still be counted as -19?

https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-020-00502-w <-animal study showing functional vaccination vs -19. This would seem to indicate that antibodies DO work vs second infections.

What makes you think that somehow t-cells lose their training? You misreading the antibody study that just reconfirms studies from the past 30 years showing how antibodies decrease quickly when nolonger needed? That's an evolutionary mechanism exactly the same as muscle mass decreasing when no longer needed. The body doesn't like to waste energy on stuff it doesn't use. That ties in directly with neuroplasticity studies, the myostatin/Follistatin studies, and lots of others. Energy/resource waste is not something evolution has left very open. Unused antibodies are that kind of waste and of course get cycled out of plasma once the infection is gone, it's the ability to rapidly produce them AGAIN later that matters.

Facemasks in medicine are mainly to prevent flesh-eating bacteria from getting into a patient's open wounds though the breathing of the doctor/nurse/observer. if your surgeon "clears their throat" you should probably reschedule, or double-down on antiseptics and antibiotics. It's the same with hand washing: BACTERIA not VIRUS are the main concern and efficacy.

Viral particles are NOT going to be blocked by either a surgical mask OR the cheap cloth ones people "feel good" about wearing.

Just like a lot of other viruses in it's larger family, CoViD19 uses a pathway in mucoid tissues to infect cells, and once already in a body and blood-born it can infect all mucoid tissues making all those tissues potential spreading points once the virus starts shedding. That means you NEED to be in a full lv4 bio-gear to be protected from infection and to protect others from your own infection.

N95 does not cut the mustard, the repurposed thongs people are wearing most definitely do not either. They are more worthless than hiding under a school desk during a nuclear strike.

"flattening the curve" is good to keep hospitals from being overworked, but BAD for herd immunity. Bad herd immunity means MORE CHANCE of mutation. This is MATH, period-doubling-bifurcation models it extremely well.
If this particular strain was going to be deadly to anything except economies and due-process it would have LONG AGO wiped the board clean.

Your kid gets chicken-pox you send them to the other kids to infect them too: so that as adults they don't get crippled by the same virus. That's how you deal with a virus. If you didn't get forcefully infected with pox as a kid, you are going to be one of those adults that it can kill.
-> Sounds a lot like CoViD, no?

Anyone using a reversal of Maude Flanders catchphrase to guilt trip others had better be personally paying for a damn nice retirement and amenities package for the elders in their community above-and-beyond what is legally mandated. Hypocrisy of elder-care is fkin comical doublethink. It's just as vile to conviently use the old as a weapon as it is to use children as a shield.

You are right. VIRUS DO NOT CARE about your thoughts, they ALSO don't care about masks, they don't care about much of anything really. They only care if they can hijack your endocytosis and ribosomes. Since not all ribosomes are created equal even in the same animal, not every tissue type can be an effective host. That's also why cross-species viral transfer is so rare and quite frankly usually BENIGN.

That being said, the virus DOES NOT CARE, even if it is a huge conspiracy (if it is it's the most stupid plan in history to make money), the virus still does not care.
And BTW: the 160,000 people who have died from it in 2020 REALLY don't care if you think it is a conspiracy or not, or if you think you have a right to infect people because you are too stupid or arrogant to wear a mask in a high infection area (like the US).

But as you can see the US is paying a huge price for it's arrogance and ignorance, 160,000 people would like to disagree with you, and the virus DOES NOT CARE WHAT YOU THINK.. (or even IF you think)..

Even the experts say that masks may be helpful in only a few situations.
OK, but look at this pair of interesting facts in juxtaposition:
One of the symptoms of covid is shortness of breath or difficulty breathing According to experts, face masks shouldn’t be used by people who have trouble breathing The takeaway is, although face masks may do some good in some cases, they can do some harm in other cases. Therefore, mandatory use by all is dangerous and an overreach of authority.

A couple of other interesting facts:

Almost all people who need to be hospitalized “for covid-19” have other existing comorbidities. The most common comorbidities are hypertension, obesity, and diabetes. Many of the patients have all three, but of course, should they die, the cause of death will be listed as covid!

The claim that there are “excess deaths” in 2020 is true. But that happens to be true every year! The reason why is the baseline used is an average of all deaths over the past five years without taking into consideration the population is growing every year.

That is the same as saying the number of deaths in the US, in 2020 should be the same as the number of deaths in 2017, even though the population has increased by almost 9 million people since 2017. That is absurd! If the death rate is about 1%, that would account for 90 thousand “excess deaths” right off the bat. A mathematical creation!

Surely, there is a new virus out there and it can kill the most vulnerable among us, but most of the infected people won’t even know it unless they are tested for it. That is hardly anything to panic about.

You must be able to do the same because otherwise your opinions are not provable and are therefore just the ravings of a crank even if eventually proved true by someone else. Your beliefs don't make you a crank, your inability to back them up mathematically does.

It is logical to blame the human mind behind a crime for the crime, yes.
It is also logical that an armed person is much less likely to have a crime committed against them. Because criminals are cowards.
