sanctus Posted May 26, 2006 Report Share Posted May 26, 2006 I loved all his books a part froma detail his endings they always end so that there is more to tell (I mean they end with the start of a new "adventure"). So £I was just wondering is there a continuation to the Ender-cycle? The last I saw/read was "children of the mind". I know he wrote as well a the shadow-trilogy but that is a story like battle-school from what I understood reading the back-covers and not the the continuation to the search of who sent the virus to the pequinos... The same question for the cycle which ends with the book "homecoming:earthfall" (I read it in french so I don't know the title of the cycle). Tormod Posted May 26, 2006 Report Share Posted May 26, 2006 There is a shadow trilogy (which is a sort of parallell story to the Ender saga) and in my eyes it gets worse and worse with each book. It's a complete cop-out as far as I'm concerned...those books were published to cash in on an earlier success. TheBigDog Posted May 26, 2006 Report Share Posted May 26, 2006 The Shadow series started allright, but got weaker as it went, as Tormod said. It follows Bean and the other kids from the battle school. The first is Enders Game from the perspective of Bean. It follow's Bean and the other battle school folks who made up Ender's select team. The stories are Bean and Peter centric. I have not read the newest one (Shadow of the Giant?) but will get around to it some day. Don't expect the same quality as the Ender series. Wikipedia says there is a fifth novel planned that will take place between the first two to fill the gap when Ender and Valentine were traveling for 3000 years in excile. alxian Posted June 5, 2006 Report Share Posted June 5, 2006 read them all but giant, which i'm ever meaning to read i'd rather see him get the movie and video game done, then get to more novel writing. the video game could be anything as simple as the bugger invasion of earth where mazer eventually fends off an insane invasion, that does significant damage to large stawths of earths population centers leaving much of its military ashambles, which only turns out to be a scouting party... future games could continue the space epic, leading humanities brightest children to command huge battlefleets against bugger planets...
