Apparently there is a 15 year old boy in nepal whose been meditating under a tree for the last 6 months. The articles I've read said he hasn't eaten or been to the toilet for 6 months!

Some are calling him the New Buddha!!! He's now drawing the crowds as word gets around.

___Over the holiday I visited with a guy who just got back from India/Nepal who was researching the historical mathematics of the Bhudists. We had a vigorous debate about whether or not Bhudism (or any organized religion) has the interest of others at heart. I maintain its all a bunch of mumbo jumbo meant to control people; in particular the fact that Bhuda said 'don't follow me', just like this guy. Just reverse psychology in my view. Bunch of parlor magic & hokum meant to control people & get them to comply & pony up their resources.

___Oh, don't get closer than 5 yards, oh don't follow me, oh look what I can do. Same thing for Jesus, Muhamed or any avatar you care to name in my opinion. Hooey from the root of any tree. Have a read of Stanley Milgram's Obedience to Authority & then take a good look at how authority dresses itself in costume. Thank somebody that Attends has found a market in Nepal.

Buddah was apparently a normal human being like and the same with jesus.

Here is a teaching from the man given the name buddha "Awakened One" or "enlightned one".

"Do not believe what you have heard.

Do not believe in tradition because it is handed down many generations.

Do not believe in anything that has been spoken of many times.

Do not believe because the written statemens come from the some old sage.

Do not believe in conjecture.

Do not believe in authority or teachers or elders.

But after careful observation and analysis, when it agrees with reason and it will benefit one and all, then accept it and live by it. (buddha 563 b.c. - 483 b.c.)

The buddha was born prince siddhartha gautama in north east india, near the borders of nepal. Seeing the unhappiness, sickness, and death that even the wealthiest and most powerful are subject to in this life, at age 29 he abandoned the life he was told to be living and searched for a higher truth.

He really was not after a collection of other people. This teach is saying that one should not be so asleep as to believe in what is tradition, in a book, said by an old man, or teacher and so on. One is to individually contemplate which is right for the good of himself and of other and accept that as not a belief but a knowing.

If life is put into an analogy of a menu in a restaurant most of us would be selecting the same meal over and over. We might say to someone one day you should really select my meal "the fish" it is the tastiest food you will ever have in your life. One person might believe that. Another might say no, the meal of mine is the best for sure, the corn on the cob is absolutly delicious and another may believe that. The point here is, the meal you were told to eat as a child has become your knowing. The other meals may be just as swell or better and you may even beleive that, but if you have not ordered it and tasted and ate the entire thing you will never personally know. The ones who believe what someone told them about their meal know absolutly nothing in regards to that selection or knowledge. They have only taken on someones opinion that may not suit them. It is not untill one places that order, puts that food onto his taste buds and considers its flavour that he KNOWS what is what.

This life of meditation (meaning taking quiet time) and knowing and having open eyes is more important than you would think. Pythagorous, a ancient philospher, scientist, mathematician, and writer living at the time of 580 B.C to 500 B.C. (twice the age of a normal man) said,

Learn to be silent.

Let your

quiet mind

listen and absorb.

His reference to finding a state of meditation. In fact if you learn and study most of the greatest achievers to ever exist on our planet like, Leonardo de vinci, Jesus, Buddha, Archemetis, Michelangelo, William Shakespere, and many others you discover they all had one thing in common, and that was a type of unified outlook that is similar to what buddha advises us.

My point to all of this is.. there is keys to greatness and those people have been telling us this through their writings for all time. It is "tradition" in our culture to assume that meditation and things of that sort is craziness and mumbo jumbo.

I have no idea what is up with this kid, but, there was a prophecy that there will be a follower after Pope benidict the last living pope. 111th. This follower or great one will confuse many and will have only evil intention.. but prohpecies can be interpreted so differently.. just a thought anyway.. someone is supposed to rise in our coming times.. so might aswell keep a look out..

so I guess that the base 6 numbering system would be satanist.

Actually if you have six numerals it is a base seven system. See the thread Katabatak Math for an in depth explanation of the nuances at play here.

Short version; you can make it look any way you want by changing the base. Six hundred sixty six in base six hundred eighty nine is merely a single new symbol/numeral. It is all parlor magic.

Turtle your math abilities are inspiring.

Well, to get back to the topics purpose I have to say I am interested to see where this story leads to. If this boy plans to meditate as long as he says he plans to he will have reached a stage of pure enlightenment in 2011-12 ish range, which is a significant date in many cultures and writings.

On a side note, why dont they get some infered cameras and watch the kid 24 hours, see whats going on here. I believe this could be done in the range of a month especially if you are in a pure state of meditation. When you go into a state of heavy meditation time erases, your body erases.. really all you feel is your conciousness or your soul, and it really does feel like you are on a high but not like a high you may think, a high of your mind.. you literally feel pressure on your forhead region, then as you devle into more and more silence, nothing but a knowing of peace. Silence that carries all most magnificent music at the same time. Honestly I am new to meditation but I've been able to experience these things for brief times.. and not even a year ago I would of spoke on and on about how god, and all spiritual aspects of life are complete nonsense. It wasnt untill I went from a lonely life to experiencing nearly two years of solitary life that I discovered a personal understanding of so many "why's"
