Note To The Public: Don’T Do Your Homework. You’Re Not Smart Enough To Question ‘Science’

A Forbes science writer who also teams up with an industry-backed group called American Council on Science and Health to write industry-biased articles, has written an article in Forbes, urging people not to do their own homework when it comes to “science.”

As defined by Ethan Siegel, science is a subject that is so elite, so narrow and so specialized in its topic fields that only researchers working in their respective fields could possibly understand the studies.

“Even those of us with excellent critical thinking skills and lots of experience” aren’t capable of interpreting topics outside their own fields, Siegel alleges, so certainly laypersons in the general public would have no idea how to study or question true “science.” As examples, he says opponents to fluoride and vaccines need to “be humble and admit” you lack the expertise to know what you’re talking about.

“There is no excuse” for you to seek out more information or alternative ideas, he lectures, because “your preconceptions are quite likely to be wrong in some, many, or possibly even all ways. “

**** this dude, now I agree some people are just stupid however not everyone is mentally handicapped. Me and my Brother who are both physicists were talking about the other day how journalists never understand the science papers they write on and how it distorts the results of the papers. If the general public doesn't understand the papers then journalists definitely don't understand science papers with a literature or journalism degree.

That is true.

And whoever paid this guy to write this article which seems like something good to research. Clearly don't want the public asking questions are doing any kind of research. They just want us to be mindless useful idiots and never question anything.
