The Mueller Report Is Out

A few pertinent comments from long-time left-leaning Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz, who voted for Hillary Clinton and has trashed Trump in the past.

Barr has several options. The fairest would be to immediately turn the report over to President Trump’s legal team and give them a week to write a response. Barr could then issue both reports simultaneously so that the American public could judge the comparative merits of both sides of this adversarial process.

But there may well be pressures on the attorney general to send the report to Congress – thus making it public – as soon as he can vet it for possible national security omissions. If that’s what the attorney general does, then it is imperative that the American public withhold conclusions about the report until the Trump legal team has had the opportunity to respond in the court of public opinion.

This is crucial because prosecutorial reports – and Special Counsel Mueller is a prosecutor – are, by their very nature, one-sided. Prosecutors only listen to inculpatory evidence rather than including exculpatory evidence. They interview witnesses against the subject, but not witnesses in favor of the subject. That is why the Trump legal defense team needs to provide its assessment of the Mueller investigation.

So hold your breath and stay tuned, America. And please, don’t rush to judgment until you have not only read this report but any response the Trump legal team may offer. You will hear more from me once I’ve had an opportunity to read the report and any response.

I think Dershowitz is still hoping something damaging will come out of it, but at least he's being impartial and not just hell-bent to condemn Trump with misleading insinuation and innuendo.  Don't expect the same from the mainstream media, though.

It has also been disclosed that Mueller has recommended no further indictments.

Contrast Dershowitz's sentiments with those of Schumer and Pelosi, eh?

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer are demanding that the full report completed by special counsel Robert Mueller be released to the public.

“Now that Special Counsel Mueller has submitted his report to the Attorney General, it is imperative for Mr. Barr to make the full report public and provide its underlying documentation and findings to Congress,” the Democratic congressional leaders said in a joint statement late Friday afternoon after news broke that Mueller’s report had been submitted to the Justice Department.

They added that Attorney General Bill Barr, who notified Congress of the report’s completion Friday, “must not give President Trump, his lawyers or his staff any ‘sneak preview’ of Special Counsel Mueller’s findings or evidence...

They're hell-bent on presenting a one-sided presentation before Trump can respond, eh?

Many others, like Kamala Harris, have demanded that the report be released "immediately," of course.  Guys like Schiff are suggesting that Mueller did an incomplete job (after spending $45 million, with full grand jury subpoena power and all the investigative tools of the FBI at their disposal).

They want to continue the probe in House hearings.

Like, whooda thunk, I ax ya?

I think Dershowitz is still hoping something damaging will come out of it, but at least he's being impartial and not just hell-bent to condemn Trump with misleading insinuation and innuendo.  Don't expect the same from the mainstream media, though.

MSNBC host Chris Matthews expressed outrage on Friday upon hearing reports that Special Counsel Robert Mueller had completed his Russia investigation and submitted it to the attorney general -- with further indictments not expected.

“That means no charges against the president, his children or his associates after all those meetings with the Russians,” a visibly upset Matthews told his viewers.

NBC News national security reporter Ken Dilanian responded by telling Matthews that Trump couldn’t be indicted “in a criminal sense” since Mueller’s office “didn’t have it,”

“Maybe he missed the boat here,” Matthews responded.  All these dots we’re now to believe don’t connect?"  How could they let Trump off the hook?

“Well, that’s the conclusion in front of us,” Dilanian told Matthews. “All of that stuff was suggestive, it didn’t prove anything.”

Well, there's only one possible conclusion, eh, Chrissy-boy?  No one could be that incompetent.  Mueller was clearly bribed by Trump.  He sold his soul for money.

Clearly congress needs to grill both Mueller and  Barrr under oath to expose their role in all this corruption:

Sen. Kamala Harris of California upped the ante by calling on Barr to testify.

" A declassified report must be made public immediately and Attorney General Barr must publicly testify under oath about the investigation and its findings, and provide all underlying materials to the appropriate Congressional committees,” the former California attorney general said in a statement.

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Rep. Adam Schiff rejected reports that no more Mueller indictments are coming, and suggested he would call the special counsel before a House panel if necessary to learn what is in the report.

“If necessary, we will call Bob Mueller or others before our committee, I would imagine the judiciary committee may call the attorney general if necessary,” the California Democrat said during an interview on CNN.

Dershowitz now says Mueller is gutless and should be ashamed of himself.  He was paid tens of millions of dollars to make, as a prosecutor, a decision of whether to indict or not.  Instead he says he is not "exonerating" Trump on obstruction charges.  It is not the job of any prosecutor, anywhere, to "exonerate" any suspect.  Obviously Mueller is, by shirking his duties, just trying to keep some kind of negative narrative about Trump alive.

Barr, among other things, noted that since there was no collusion, there was no "justice" to obstruct.  Of course there was no evidence in any event.   McCabe, who hates Trump, said firing Comey had NO effect on the investigation, and that there was no way that it could have.  Likewise, Mueller clearly states that no attempt whatsover  was made to terminate or interfere with his investigation.

Did anyone have any doubts that the release of the Mueller report would do nothing to quiet the political discord?  The bluff and bluster on either side of the aisle is meaningless and is only intended to distract us from the fact that our government does nothing and does it at great cost to us.

Both sides of the aisle?  Of course Republicans are capable of the same, but the only avowed purpose of the Democrats has been to RESIST anything and everything Trump says or proposes, regardless of merit.   The mainstream media is even less trusted than congress, which is less trusted than Trump.

The Democrats, and their partners the MSN, are only further exposed by this.   Their message?  Basically just one thing:  We hate Trump and we will continue to try to impeach him every day until election day!  Of course no one expected anything else from them. The average American is sick of them and their unwillingness to do what's in the best interests of the country.  They'll pay at the voting booth next election.

Since when did reporters get paid to have an opinion?  I thought their raison d'etre was to report the news, not have a whiny little pissy-fit.

For quite a while, actually, but the trend was accelerated 10-fold once Trump was elected.  The networks have made many millions by pandering to the widespread "never-Trump" sentiments of their gullible audiences.  Of course by and large they shared those sentiments too, so that made it easy.

I am waiting for 2020 to vote for a 3rd party candidate again.  Obviously the republitards will run Frump again and the democraps will run one of their 20+ "also ran's" and we will have to put up with 4 more years of the same nonsense.  Canada is starting to look pretty good despite the cold.

They went so far as to call fellow left wingers, who "wouldn't vote for Trump at gunpoint,"  like Glen Greenwald, "russian agents" because they expressed some doubt about the validity of the "collusion" narrative. Note: the Greenwald interview starts around the 2:20 mark in this video.
