JimmyBilboquet
Hi all, My deck was covered in snow the other day and as the temperature got warmer it started melting following a strange pattern (see image attached). Notice that my deck is made of composite wood panels with narrow spaces between them. I would have expected snow to melt along the narrow spaces first, but what is see is the opposite. Any idea why? (Is the composite wood keeping/conducting warmth?) Thanks!
GAHD
no image attached, but I'm betting it has to do with some ventilation under the deck. :) hazelm
hazelm
Isn't the wood warmer than the air around it? My balcony floor is of wooden boards and the snow melts off it while it still before it melts off the ground. Hmmm. I blamed that on its exposure to sunshine which the lower ground isn't getting due to high buildings close by. How about your deck?
OceanBreeze
I guess I need reading glasses. I misread the title and thought it was a really strange medical condition.
